CAT 2016: Have you registered to appear in test on Dec 4? Process to close at 5PM; only few hours left

If you have not registered for CAT 2016, do it now as there is no proposal to extend the registration last date. Only few hours are left for the CAT 2016 registration to close at 5PM today.

In response to query raised by MBAUniverse.com, whether the registration date is proposed to be extended, Prof Rajendra K Bandi, Convener CAT 2016 and faculty at IIM Bangalore referred to the press release which stated that the registration process would close on September 22, 2016.

Registration window: Closing 5 days before last year
Registration process for CAT 2016 is closing 5 days earlier than last year when it was opened on August 6 and was closed on September 25. The last few days proved to be bountiful for increasing the number of CAT registrations last year as the registration figure crossed 2.18 lakhs candidates in 2015. However, it appears IIM Bangalore is not worried about the increase in CAT 2016 applicants and as such does not propose any extension in the CAT 2016 registration date.

This year registration for CAT 2016 has completed 46 days and is proposed to close today.

Registration: Closing time 7 hours earlier than last year
In another deviation from last year CAT registration, the process for CAT 2016 registration is to close 7 hours before the closing time of last year.Registration for CAT 2015 was closed at 11.59PM on September 25, 2015. But the CAT 2016 registration is closing at 5 PM on September 22, 2016.

Problem for working people
Working professional who usually complete the registration after returning from work may find the registration process closed and miss the opportunity to register for CAT 2016. Earlier they used to complete the process during later evening after having dinner but there is no such score this year.

Register now: Don’t wait
Only a few hours are left for the clock to strike 5PM after which the 46 days CAT 2016 registration window will come to a close. Besides it is very much possible that you may face technical glitches if you opt for the registration at the nick of time say around 3 or 4 PM.

Those who have not been able to register for CAT 2016 and are eligible should not wait any longer and proceed to register immediately. They should however, keep all the details ready before proceeding for registration.

Last minute rush: Be cautious
Today, you may witness a great rush of aspirants for CAT 2016 registration. Please be cautious and patiently complete the registration process since the site may be a bit slow.

CAT 2016 registration: Key facts
CAT 2016 registration was opened on August 8, 2016 with many aspirant friendly changes

- For CAT 2016 all the aspirants need to register on line and have to pay the necessary registration fee of Rs. 1700/- or Rs. 850/- as per the applicant’s category, on-line only through credit cards, net banking facility.

- Payment of CAT 2016 registration fee is to be made after completing and inserting all the details in the last part of the registration form. It has saved aspirants from losing the money at the time of beginning of registration process.

- Allotment of test centre and slot to appear in CAT 2016 exam will be made by IIMs after the registration process is closed.

- CAT 2016 will be conducted in a single day on December 4, 2016 in 2 sessions (Morning and afternoon) only

- Noida which was crapped from the list of test cities has been inserted as a test city again for CAT 2016.

- The facility to correct certain errors in CAT 2016 registration form will be available from October 1 to 5, 2016.
