NMAT by GMAC: Late registration closes today on Oct 12; no further opportunity exists to get NMIMS in 2017

Late Registration for NMAT by GMAC will close today on October 12 and now only few hours are left to apply for the MBA entrance exam that will lead to MBA in NMIMS, XIMB and other 18 institutes and universities

Late Registration for NMAT by GMAC will close today on October 12 and now only few hours are left to apply for the MBA entrance exam that will lead to MBA in NMIMS, XIMB and other 18 institutes and universities across the country. NMIMS will not accept the scores of any other exam except NMAT by GMAC. No further extension in late registration process for the exam is proposed.

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies(NMIMS) offers MBA at its four campuses at Mumbai, Shirpur, Bangalore and Hyderabad, with a total intake of 800 students in flagship MBA programme.

Approximately 60 thousand aspirants appear in computer based NMAT by GMAC which is the only exam for admission to NMIMS. NMAT by GMAC exam is conducted in 75 days test window and its first session was held on October 7, 2016. The last session of NMAT by GMAC will be held on December 20, 2016.

Registration process for NMAT by GMAC without late fee was closed on October 3, 2016. Now the facility to register and apply for NMAT by GMAC with additional late fee of Rs.300/- is also closing today. NMAT by GMAC is a computer based on line test with the facility of re-scheduling and 3 retakes.

Online registration process for NMAT by GMAC 2016 exam had started on July 4. This is the second NMAT by GMAC exam after acquisition of NMAT in March 2015 by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

NMAT by GMAC allows 3 retakes after a gap of 15 days, candidates registering and applying for the exam should plan their exam dates accordingly.

NMAT by GMAC: How to apply
You must register and pay for the NMAT by GMAC exam before scheduling a test date and location. Candidates are required to visit respective university/college/school website for details of their admission procedure. You have to submit their respective form separately.

-- Create an account on nmat.org.in using a valid email address.
-- Provide contact information, personal, educational and work experience, the list of programmes to send scores, and the ID that you will use at the test centre. Indicate your interest in participating in a search service and agree to the terms and conditions.
-- Pay the test fee.
-- Your name and date of birth that you enter on the registration form must exactly match the name and date of birth on your primary and secondary ID.
-- Choose the schools to send your scores under the "Programme Details" section. Up to 7 programmes are included in your registration fee. An additional fee of INR 200 + applicable taxes will be applied for each programme added in excess of 7 programs.
-- You must upload a photograph that bears likeness to you and the photograph on your primary ID. This photograph will be included on the admit card that you must bring.

3 Test Retakes: Key feature of NMAT by GMAC
You will be allowed to take the NMAT by GMAC exam a maximum of 3 times during the year’s testing period. This includes the first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts. No shows meaning if you do not present yourself at the test venue at the designated time and date are considered attempts.

You will need to register for a retake exam using the same process as the initial test registration. Once your registration for the retake is complete you will receive an email with authorization to schedule.

You can schedule the retake test 15 or more days after your most recent date of attempt. This means you will have to wait at least 15 calendar days before you can appear for a retake. You can schedule your test any time during the retake scheduling window (subject to real time availability). You will be able to select any slot that is a minimum of 24 hours later than the time you schedule your appointment.

Facility to reschedule the test
You may reschedule your appointment if you can't appear for the original test appointment. You may reschedule your appointment up to 72 hours prior to your original appointment. You may pay for your reschedule using credit card only.

NMAT by GMAC is a computer based exam. It will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) as per the following composition

Individually timed test sections
Each of the three sections is individually timed. Test takers need to answer and review the questions of a particular section within the allotted section time. The NMAT by GMAC test takers would therefore need to solve each section within the prescribed time limit to get the best out of the exam.

Important dates & registration fee for different activities
Below are listed the important dates for the NMAT by GMAC alongwith the application fee for each activity-
Late registration: Closing date October 12, 2016; Fee-Rs.2000+taxes
Registration for Retake of exam: Starts October 8 & closes December 15; Fee-Rs.1700+taxes
Rescheduling of exam: Started on July 4 & will close on December 17; Fee-Rs.1000+taxes

Fee payment options
More payment options have been added to pay the NMAT by GMAC exam fee. Candidates can pay the NMAT by GMAC exam fees through net banking option. Payment forms accepted by NMAT by GMAC include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Debot Card, Net Banking, Diners Club, Mobile Wallets.
