CAT 2016 exam pattern as revealed in the official CAT 2016 Mock Test released on October 25, is marked with certain changes and now the candidates are supposed to adopt the preparation strategy in accordance with the announced exam pattern for CAT 2016.

Quantitative Ability section in CAT 2016 will have 34 questions comprising 24 MCQs and 10 Non-MCQs. Quant section is more important as it is placed as the last and 3rd section in the CAT 2016 exam and you will arrive at this section after draining your energy in VARC and DILR sections and spending 2 hours of attempting the exam without break. This will need you to practice how to maintain your cool and not to miss on calculations. Accordingly, in view of the experts, you are supposed to practice the Quant questions more.

CAT 2016 aspirants should honestly complete the Quant mock in not more than 18 minutes and only then they should cross check with answers how much they have scored.
Each correct answer carries 3 marks and each wrong answer carries the penalty of 1 mark negative marking. So before you arrive at your final score you should calculate and deduct the negative marks out of your credit marks.

Check Your Score  
If you have scored 27 & above, consider yourself 100 percentiler in Quant. If you score between 20 to 27, you are in the 90 to 99 percentile range. If you are between 15 to 20, you stand with 85 to 90 percentile range.
