CMAT 2017: Key to AICTE approved MBA/PGDM
The biggest USP of CMAT 2017 is that it is the only entrance exam, success in which can offer you the opportunity of admission in one of the AICTE approved MBA/PGDM 2017-19 programme in a good B-school.

AICTE accepts and includes in its list of B-schools only those institutes whose PGDM/MBA programmes are duly approved by it or they are university approved programmes. Accordingly all the B-schools accepting CMAT 2017 scores offer AICTE approved management courses.

Registration fee
Test fee is included in the registration and application fee for CMAT 2017. For General/OBC Category candidates the registration and test fee is Rs. 1400/- and for SC/ST/PD candidates the test fee is Rs.700/-. This fee is excluding the bank charges, if any.

While making cash payment at the bank, you will have to pay Rs. 40/- towards bank charges in addition to Rs. 1400/- registration fee.

A candidate can pay the fee on-line through Net banking/Credit/Debit card or can pay cash through challan generated online and cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of India.  Please remember Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

CMAT 2017: 3 step Registration guide
Registration for CMAT 2017 can be completed in 3 short steps. Beginning with filling up personal profile, you will be required to make the payment in 2nd step and the 3rd step is to fill up the application form subsequently. Please read and follow carefully the undernoted steps while applying for CMAT 2017.

1st Step: Fill in the personal details
First time you will enter as NEW USER. Here you will read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and proceed.

Now you need to proceed for Self Registration. Here you need to enter few basic details. Please ensure you enter the correct details on this Self-Registration form and verify it before you click on SUBMIT button on this page. Once you SUBMIT this page, you cannot edit any data entered on this page.

Submitting this page will generate a unique 6 digit password. This password will be shown on your screen and will be sent to you via e-mail and SMS.  From now onwards, whenever you wish to login to the registration portal, you will come as an EXISTING USER and login with your e-mail id and this unique 6 digit password. This completes your 1st step of self registration.

2nd Step: Make payment
You can opt for either of the following two modes of registration fee payment for CMAT 2017

Online Payment: You can select ONLINE PAYMENT mode and then do the payment using Credit card / Debit card / Net Banking. Once your payment is successfully done, you will receive a confirmation e-mail and SMS. Once you have received the successful payment confirmation, you can proceed with the remaining part of registration process for CMAT 2017.

The last date to complete and finalize your CMAT 2017 registration after making on-line payment is December 10, 2016.

Cash Payment: Indian candidates can select this option to pay by CASH at any of the designated SBI bank branch only for payment in Rupees for appearing in test in India.

Once you select this option and proceed, you will see a Challan on your screen with your details already filled in it. You need to take 3 print outs of this Challan, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and walk in to your nearest SBI bank branch located in India with cash on the next day of generation of Challan. Cash Deposit will be accepted only from the next day of your Challan generation.

For example - If you Generate and Print the Challan copies on 10th November 2016, then walk in to the nearest SBI bank branch with Challan copies and CASH from 11th November 2016, onwards. Similarly if you PRINT the CHALLAN copies on 14th November 2016, then walk in to the nearest SBI bank branch with Challan copies and CASH from 15th November 2016 onwards.

Please note that you must deposit cash a few days before the closing date for CMAT 2017 registration as it takes 48 hours to get your payment updated in the registration portal.

In return to the Cash Deposit, the bank will give you one copy of Challan with their stamp and a Journal number written on it. Please ensure the Journal number written is clearly visible before you leave the bank.

After 48 hours from making the cash payment in bank, you will receive an e-mail and SMS confirming that your payment data has got updated in the registration portal. Then you need to re login to the portal and proceed to complete with the remaining part of registration process

Cash Payment: 3 days grace period allowed to complete the process
The last date to pay CASH in bank is December 11, 2016 and from there onwards to complete registration is December 13, 2016. Submission of final application after payment will not be possible after 13th December, 2016.

It should be noted that for online payment, CMAT registration 2017 closes on December 10, 2016. Please also note that fee once remitted will not be refunded in any circumstances. 

AICTE has added this aspirant friendly feature by awarding a grace period of 3 days, if the candidates are making cash payment, to finalize the CMAT 2017 registration by December 13.

3rd and final Step: Complete the Application form
 Now that you are done with the payment, you need to fill the remaining part of the form. Once you have filled the complete form, it is suggested that you once again check the complete data entered by clicking on VIEW/MODIFY button. Clicking on VIEW/MODIFY button will allow you to modify your data in case you want to modify on CMAT 2017 registration form.

Once you are sure that all the data entered is accurate, click on Proceed button. There you will have to confirm by ticking a check box that "I have checked all the entries filled in by me and found them correct" and click on SUBMIT. After SUBMIT, you need to accept a declaration and click on I Agree. The system will re-confirm to you for SUBMIT. Once you confirm, your form will get finally SUBMITTED and no change in the data is possible after this SUBMIT

You will see a message on your screen stating “Thank you for successfully registering for the AICTE CMAT January 2017 exam.” Here you can click on PREVIEW button to view your filled form. If you wish, you can PRINT your filled form and keep a copy with you for reference

Key mistakes you should avoid during CMAT 2017 registration
Whether you are making payment online or in cash, you will have to complete the CMAT 2017 registration process online only. To complete your registration error free, AICTE suggests key points to avoid any kind of mistake & arrange for the required information before you begin the CMAT 2017 registration process as shared below-

No Breakage during registration
Ensure that you have a Computer with good Internet connectivity so that there is no breakage of Internet during registration process

No mistake on Academics
Please see that you have gathered and are filling up all your qualification details correctly while registering for CMAT 2017 exam

Correct size of scanned photo & signature
You need to upload your scanned photo while registering, hence keep ready a scanned clear photo of yours taken on a white background. The size of this photo should be 140 x 160 (60Kb)
You also need to upload your scanned signature while registering, hence keep ready your scanned clear signature done on a white background. The size of this signature file should be 60 x 90 (30Kb).

No mistake in your valid e-mail id & Mobile number
Your e-mail id should be Valid and must remain valid for at least another 6-8 months. You will be using this e-mail id at least for the next 6 months. All communication will be done on this e-mail id which you will enter while registering for CMAT 2017 exam

You should also enter the correct & valid mobile number as all information via SMS will be sent to this number

Check the validity of your Credit/Debit Card
In case you are making payment Online, please ensure that you have a valid Credit/Debit card so that your payment transaction remains smooth and does not get stuck incurring any loss of money to you.

Ensure 3 hard copies of Challan printed for Cash payment
In case you are planning to pay cash at the bank, please ensure to print 3 copies of Challan. You may get a printer connected to your system to facilitate the process or copy it in your pen drive to take print from elsewhere.

AICTE earlier provided the candidates 2 opportunities to appear in CMAT for MBA/PGDM admission. The first CMAT was held in September and the second CMAT in February. Now with CMAT changed to be a yearly exercise the opportunity to use better of two scores in CMAT exams will not exist anymore. AICTE with effect from last year now conducts only 1 CMAT instead of 2 CMAT exams.

CMAT 2017 registration that started on October 10, 2016 requires you to make your payment first and will then allow you to complete the registration process. Last date of registration ends on December 10 and AICTE does not offer any provision to complete your registration after the last date with late fee.
