Low course Fee as compared to other Good B-schools
GIM Goa has a low fee structure as compared to other top B-schools. The two year fee of the PGDM batch 2017-19 programme is Rs.14.98 lakhs which includes Hostel & other charges.

Center for Excellence in Research
A faculty driven initiative that facilitates the creation, management and dissemination of knowledge, this centre aims to create an environment that engenders and fosters research, to support faculty members engagement in high quality research, to nurture critical thinking among students by the use of research driven pedagogy, and to develop institutional expertise and thought leadership in key areas.

Case studies developed by faculty have been published by Harvard Business School, Richard Ivy and Babson.

Center for Social Sensitivity and Action 
This center was created to promote social responsibility within and outside GIM and reflects the educational philosophy of GIM which emphasizes the development of socially responsible managers. The GiveGoa initiative gives students an opportunity to serve less privileged communities and an opportunity to contribute to a more inclusive society.

Center for Innovation, Creativity and Design Thinking
This center fosters divergence in thinking and a convergence of ideas for creative solutions. Students are encouraged to nurture and express their creative, innovative and design sense through theatre, music, dance, short film making and photography among other activities.

Center for Entrepreneurship Development 
This center fosters entrepreneurship by working with students interested in starting their own ventures, helping others set up ventures, assisting existing entrepreneurs to grow and manage their businesses better, supporting family businesses, mentoring start-ups, facilitating in the turnaround of existing organizations and incubating startups.

Innovative Curriculum & Pedagogy
Re-structuring of the curriculum as per the industry standards is a regular practice at GIM Goa. Internalising the values which make for effective leadership in organisations is the main objective of the curriculum.

Different learning methods are used appropriate to the skills to be developed, like problem analysis, case studies in groups, simulated games, small group seminars, and 'laboratory' exercise. While classroom interaction aims at developing a wide knowledgebase, the student is encouraged to analyse, anticipate, innovate and otherwise prepare himself or herself for a challenging professional career. The courses are designed taking into account the requirements of employers and the abilities of the students to reach the highest standards.

Pedagogy at GIM includes enhancing student capabilities, analytical skills, Visual and computer based instruction along with technology based delivery. Fieldwork service projects help integrate the theory and practice in business management. The curriculum broadly follows the pattern proposed by the AICTE. It consists of core courses of 71 credits and elective courses of 48 credits.

In the summer after the first year, students are required to spend eight to ten weeks in an industrial organization doing a project on a significant aspect or problem of organizational management. The Alumni Association has instituted a Gold Medal for the Best Summer Project.

The students are required to submit a dissertation on any area of management, as a part of the academic programme.

Prestigious International Linkages
GIM has long standing partnerships with premier institutes abroad. GIM’s student exchange programs enable GIM students to study abroad for one term at some of the premier institutes in Europe. Students can attend terms at University of Antwerp, Belgium, Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics, Portugal, Warsaw University of Technology Business School, Poland and Hochschule Ingolstadt, Germany.

Goa Institute of Management also has an internship collaboration with the University of Antwerp called The Joint International Internship Seminar (JIIS). The JIIS is an intensive two-week program held annually in the month of September. Students from both Belgium and GIM work together on projects in Goa. The program provides an opportunity to work across cultural differences within tight deadlines to solve real management problems and present the recommendations to the executives of the companies.

To facilitate the development of cross-cultural perspectives, increase the ability to engage across borders and open up opportunities for students across the globe, GIM conducts foreign language courses for the full-time students. Basic courses are offered in French, Portuguese, German, and Spanish in collaboration with Alliance Française de Goa, Instituto Camões, Panjim and Indo–German Educational and Cultural Society &Communicare, Goa respectively.

Admission process with low CAT Cut offs
Candidates seeking admission in GIM Goa will be assessed on the basis of their overall scores obtained in the qualifying entrance exam like CAT 2016. If you score around 90 percentile in CAT 2016, you may be shortlisted for final admission round at this coveted B-school.

The shortlist shall be drawn without CAT 2016, XAT 2017, GMAT or CMAT 2017 score, to facilitate interview process in January 2017. Scores shall be incorporated later on. GIM may publish guidance minimum score. Candidates with score below guidance minimum score are unlikely to be selected for admission,

Who is the ideal candidate, GIM is looking for its flagship PGDM programme? Responding to this MBAUniverse.com query, Prof  Rakesh Shrivastava  said “At GIM, we celebrate diversity and we have consciously try to get varied profiles in our student population. Unique Achiever’s round admission process for bright candidates
GIM has brought key changes in admission process by introducing the Achiever’s round. Sharing the details of Achiever’s round in admission process, Prof Srivastava says, “Last year (2016-18 batch) we introduced Achievers Round , an early interview for candidates with proven Achievement in Academics, co-curricular or career, in Goa, in month of January. Candidates called for Achievers round qualify to apply for a scholarship of Rs. 4 Lac.

This year (2017-19 batch) we added GMAT for resident Indians and a person can apply to GIM based on XAT or CAT or CMAT or GMAT”

For PGDM, a select group of bright candidates shall be invited to Goa for Achiever's round of interview process in January 2017. All other candidates shall be invited for Regular round in the beginning of March 2017 at various interview centres in the country.

For Achiebver’s round, interviews shall be held only in Goa and candidates shortlisted shall be eligible to apply for scholarships.

On the admission process for PGDM (HCM), Prof Srivastava shared “The shortlisting for PGDM-HCM is based on complete profiles.”

Final selection process
The final selection shall be made on objective assessment based on CAT 2016, XAT, GMAT or CMAT score and the leadership assessment based on Individual Assessment in Group Activity - an interaction with peers and evaluators.

Revised admission criteria and weightages to different components in final selection process at GIM Goa, subject to obtaining a desired proficiency in written communication and a minimum score for each evaluation component, except work experience, are  -
