CAT 2016: IIM Admit Card with unique System number 1st time; be careful! Don't risk your candidature in changed pattern

For the first time the CAT 2016 Admit Card contains unique feature of allotting you a test system number apart from your registration number which may have far reaching implications if not understood correctly
Test System Number is provided only for the limited purpose of identifying the floor/wing and the computer at the test venue on the day of the test; For any correspondence with CAT Center you must provide your Registration Number IIM Bangalore

Be careful and don’t risk your candidature by reading the CAT 2016 registration number interchangeably with the system registration number which has been introduced in CAT 2016 for the first time.

In the history of CAT exam, for the first time the CAT 2016 Admit Card contains unique feature of allotting you a test system number apart from your registration number. Now you will be required to sit at the work station which has the computer screen with your test system number as contained in your CAT 2016 admit Card and not as per your registration number.

If you have not yet gone through or understood your CAT 2016 Admit card instructions and advisory, you may be in big trouble of losing your candidature on December 4, 2016 the CAT exam day. The very first thing in regard to the IIM Admit Card issued as CAT 2016 hall ticket you are supposed to do is to download and take prints of your CAT 2016 Admit Card which needs to be carried to the test centre after fixing your same photograph as uploaded in the CAT 2016 registration form.

System number allocation: Key change
Please see that your CAT 2016 Admit Card has distinct Test System Number which should be different from your registration number. The 2nd column on the CAT 2016 Admit Card has CAT 2016 Registration number while the last column of the Admit card displays your ‘Test System Number'

Clarifying the key change brought about in the CAT 2016 Admit Card details, IIM Bangalore has informed “The Test System Number is provided only for the limited purpose of identifying the floor/wing and the computer at the test venue on the day of the test; For any correspondence with CAT Center you must provide your Registration Number”

Can’t download later
Download your CAT 2016 admit card from the CAT website (https://iimcat.ac.in). Admit Card will not be available for download after the completion of the test.

Verify all the details
Check your details and carefully read all the instructions provided on the Admit Card. The CAT 2016 Admit card should contain following details-

-Your name as entered in the registration/application form of CAT 2016
-Registration number
-Date of Birth (In dd/mm/yyyy format)
-Category
-PWD/DA status
-Date and day of CAT 2016 exam
- Test Time/Session
-Test City
-Test Centre
-Test System number

Take legible prints of CAT 2016 Admit card on A4 size paper
The IIM Admit card is invalid if illegibly printed. The tit bits are those important things which we tend to forget at the eleventh hour. It will be good if you take print of your Admit card on A4 size paper as recommended by CAT Centre 2016.

The print of admit card will be valid only if the candidate's photograph and signature images are legibly printed.

Affix same photo on IIM Admit Card
One photo of the candidate has to be pasted in the space provided on the CAT 2016 Admit Card. The photo should be the same as uploaded by you in your registration form. Please note that affixing any other photo may also disqualify you from appearing in CAT 2016 exam.
 
Carry Photo ID with same image to Test Centre
Apart from CAT 2016 Admit Card, you need to carry at least 1 valid photo ID with the same image to the test centre. 

CAT Centre 2016 has directed the aspirants that the candidate's photograph and signature images should be legibly printed and visible on the photo ID card and should match the name on Admit Card. The Photo ID card should not be damaged or smudged. It will be better to check one now for the D-day and if not available, get the same prepared immediately as you still have one day to test.

Valid Photo Ids allowed at Test Centre
The Admit Card is to be produced for verifcation at the time of the test. Apart from your CAT 2016 Admit Card, you need to carry one of the following original (not photocopied or
scanned) valid (not expired) photo identifcation card-

Voter ID; Aadhar Card; PAN Card; Driving License; Passport; College ID; Employer ID; Identification Affidavit. In case any of the CAT 2016 aspirants does not have any other photo id card as listed and shared by CAT Centre 2016, he should get the identification affidavit prepared. The format for Identification Affidavit is available on CAT 2016 website.

The candidate's photograph and signature should be legibly printed and visible on the photo ID card and should match the name on Admit Card.

Please note that only Admit Card and original Photo ID proof will be permitted inside the test hall.

Admit Card: Property of CAT Centre 2016
Please note that your Admit Card (plus scribe affidavit, if applicable) will be collected by the test invigilator and will not be returned to you. These will be retained by the invigilator. So it will be better to take more than one print of Admit Card for your future reference and record.

Sign the admit card when invigilator says so
Do not put your signature on the admit card before you enter the CAT 2016 test venue and the invigilator comes to you. The signature on the admit card will have to be done in the presence of the invigilator in the testing room.

Don’t carry other articles or wear shoes & socks
Please remember not to carry Mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets such as watches, calculators and stationary items like pen, pencil, and paper as they are not allowed inside the CAT 2016 test venue. You should carry CAT 2016 Admit Card & Photo ID Card only.

You should not wear shoes and socks as you will have to take them off outside the testing lab. The admit card will remain available for view and download till CAT 2016 exam day. You are supposed to report at 7:30 AM for the forenoon session and at 1:00 PM for the afternoon session on December 4 at the designated test centre mentioned in your Admit card. CAT Centre 2016 has informed that no candidate will be allowed inside the test centre after 8:45 AM for the forenoon session and post 2:15 PM for the afternoon session. It will be better to locate your test centre a day before your exam and make your travel plan.
