‘Get enough sleep and rest the night before the CAT 2016 exam’ is the last day tip  shared by Ananth Radhakrishnan, CAT topper with 99.85 percentile and PGP 2016-18 student at IIM Bangalore. CAT 2016 exam is to be held tomorrow on December 4 in 2 session across the country in 138 cities and more than 650 test centres.

The CAT 2016 exam pattern, key instructions related to CAT Admit Card download and exam day instructions were revealed and shared with MBAUniverse.com on December 2, 2016 by CAT exam convener and IIM Bangalore faculty Prof Rajendra K. Bandi in a specific release http://www.mbauniverse.com/article/id/9947/CAT-2016.

In fact the CAT 2016 aspirants who have prepared well and wish to get admission in top B schools in 2017 are getting a bit nervous and under stress as less than 24 hours are left for the D-Day. Losing the high level of confidence can be detrimental to your journey to score high percentile and may be an obstacle to your success in the exam.

In view of Prof S K Agarwal, expert on Verbal Ability for CAT 2016 preparation, if you are positive, remain cool and calm throughout the exam, you can score high and remain motivated.

Any feeling of pessimism or the stressful feeling, fearing some problems related to preparation, exam room strategy or unanticipated technical glitches just before CAT 2016 is uncalled for and unfounded. You have to take the bull by the horn. Be confident and remain motivated, any dip in the confidence level at the eleventh hour may turn the tables against you.

Past CAT toppers like Ananth, Amritansh, Prateek, Pranjal, Nishant, Saransh, Abhay - students at IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore and FMS Delhi have shared with MBAUniverse.com that remaining stress free throughout the CAT preparation journey but working consistently to achieve their goal was their ‘Success Mantra’ to crack the exam with high percentile and get the desired IIM.

Exam day strategy: Say no to a question
Sharing the test taking technique, Saransh advises “Read as much as possible. Also, learn to say no to a question and move to the next as time available is less. Focus equally on all the sections and lastly, I wish good luck to all”

CAT 2016, a single day affair on December 4, will decide the fate of 2.32 lakh aspirants going to take test and seeking admission in top rated IIMs and other B schools in India. Test takers should understand that they need now a very relaxed atmosphere, full night of sound sleep without stress on their mind.

More seats in IIMs in 2017
After the visit of Mr Prakash Javadekar, Minister of HRD Govt of India to IIMs and his appeal to double their intake in coming years, it is expected that more candidates will find admission opportunities in IIMs.

Moving with the strategy while IIM Ahmedabad has slashed its qualifying minimum CAT 2016 percentile from 90 to 80, IIM Udaipur, Trichy have already announced their increased intake in PGP 2017-19 batch. It is expected that all the IIMs will increase their intake in 2017.

At present there are 20 IIMs and if each one adds 50 to 100 seats in 2017, it will come to around 2000 additional intake. With all this and more in the offing, you stand more chances to get admission in IIMs than earlier. Not only this, the proposed IIM Bill will empower all the IIMs to award MBA degree instead of PGDM in future.
