IIM Udaipur admission criteria for PGP 2019-21 award high weightage to CAT 2018 score and candidate’s profile. IIM Udaipur admission criteria with cut offs and weightages for the flagship PGP 2019-21 batch have been announced. The PGP 2019-21 is the 9th batch at IIM Udaipur will have 260 students and the admission process for it will be based on CAT 2018 score, shortlist for Personal Appearance (PA), conduct of common PI & WAT round for participating IIMs and final admission offer.

IIM Udaipur will award high importance to CAT 2018 score in shortlisting the candidates for PI-WAT round while the final merit list will be prepared with a weightage of 55% to CAT 2018 exam score. The recently announced details of IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria 2019-21 prescribe the admission eligibility, CAT 2018 cut off and Weightage for CAT score in Personal Appearance (PA) around. At the same time it has increased the weightage to profile to 24% in arriving at the final merit list after PA round.

No Separate Application Fee: Apply for CAT 2018 by Sep 26
IIM Udaipur application fee is Rs.1900/- and the admission application fee is included in the CAT 2018 Registration fee. Candidates applying for CAT 2018 can exercise their option to be considered by IIM Udaipur for admission in the programme column of the CAT 2018 application form without paying any separate fee. Last date to apply for CAT 2018 and to IIM Udaipur is September 26, 2018.

PGP 2019-21: Leading to MBA Degree
After implementation of IIM Act 2017, IIM Udaipur will award MBA degree to its PGP 2019-21 batch. The two-year Post-graduate Programme in Management (PGP) at IIM Udaipur is a full-time residential course for graduates from all disciplines who wish to choose a career in management. The PGP Programme at IIM Udaipur is highly ranked one.

According to IIM Udaipur, “The Program lasts two years over six terms with a compulsory Internship at the end of the 1st year. Students earn an MBA degree.”

IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria
IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria 2019-21 will be a three step process. The three-stages of selection criteria are:

  1.  Eligibility criteria
  2.  Shortlisting Criteria for Personal Appearance (PA) Process
  3. Final Admission Selection criteria

  IIM Udaipur Admission Eligibility

  1. IIM  Udaipur Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%
  2. One of the most important points in IIM Udaipur Admission Eligibility criteria is that apart from a recognized graduate degree, the candidate should appear in CAT 2018 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting
  3. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGP admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIM Udaipur by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate. 
  4. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Udaipur Admission 2019-21. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/ registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks.
  5. IIM Udaipur Eligibility further clarifies that such a candidate, if selected, will not be eligible for the IIM Indore admission unless he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2019 from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university (issued on or before June 30, 2019) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the result may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
  6. It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by IIM Udaipur and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2019.  The deadline to submit the mark-sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2019. 

IIM Udaipur Shortlisting Criteria
The second part of IIM  Udaipur Admission criteria is the shortlisting criteria before Personal Appearance (PA) round. IIM Udaipur will shortlist the candidates on the basis of CAT 2018 score, and other parameters for final selection round as under:

  • The shortlisting for final selection round in IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria awards maximum weight to CAT 2018 score.
  • The candidate must have scored minimum sectional percentile of 80 in each of the three sections of CAT 2018 – Quantitative Aptitude' (QA), ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning' (DILR) and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension' (VRC)
  • A candidate must have scored minimum overall percentile of 90 in CAT 2018
  • If the candidate does not score minimum prescribed percentile in CAT 2018, he/she will not be considered for shortlisting for final selection stage.
  • IIM Udaipur’s Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be shortlisted for PA round on the basis of criteria prepared for each category
  • All the Candidates shortlisted for PA process will have to attend both WAT and PI which will be a common process for all the participating IIMs

IIM Udaipur Admission Cut Off  
IIM Udaipur Cutoff 2019 has been liberalised for admission 2019-21. Only the candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT 2018 sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank and obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT-2018 will be considered for shortlisting for all the subsequent stages:

Final Admission Selection Round Criteria

  • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Personal Appearance (PA) round for admission to IIM Udaipur
  • Final Selection Round for IIM Udaipur Admission consists of Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT)
  • The final selection PA round for IIM Udaipur Admission will be common for the IIMs who are participating in the Common Admission Process (CAP) 2019. IIM Ranchi is coordinating CAP 2019.
  • The scores obtained by the candidate in WAT & PI of CAP 2019 would be considered for preparing the merit list
  • IIM Udaipur selection criteria after final admission round award 55% weight to CAT 2018  Score; 15% weight to Personal Interview(PI); 6% weight to Writing Ability Test (WAT); 10% Weight to Academic profile; 6% Weight to Work Experience and 8% weight to Diversity.
  • Candidates who do not obtain certain minimum scores in the WAT & PI will not be considered for the merit list. The minimum scores will be decided by IIM Udaipur at its discretion.

IIM Udaipur Admission Process
Following steps are included in the IIM Udaipur Admission process:

Step 1: The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2018 to be considered for Shortlisting process for admission at IIM Udaipur. Category wise short-lists of the candidates are prepared for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2018 score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme of IIM Udaipur.

Step 2: Shortlisted Candidates have to attend Common Admission Process (CAP) 2019 for the participating IIMs. CAP 2019 will consist of  both PI & WAT round in final selection process. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in PI & WAT will not be considered for the final selection.

Step 3: After the WAT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIM Udaipur to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in WAT & PI, academics, work experience, diversity among others. Category wise merit list will be generated based on weightages awarded to various components. 

Step 4: Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April 2019 on the basis of Final Merit Score and will be available on IIM Udaipur website. 

Step 5: Candidates receiving admission offer from IIM Udaipur will need to send the acceptance within the stipulated date along with an Offer Acceptance amount of Rs.50,000/-.

IIM Udaipur Fees

  • The total programme fees payable by PGP students of Resident Indian Category at IIM Udaipur is Rs 13,54,000/-.
  • The course fee includes Hostel accommodation, Mess charges, access to lectures, computer facilities, library etc. It also includes alumni fee 
  • Laptop computer, text books, Insurance, personal expenses on  travel, clothes and laundry are extra.
  • The total programme fees for the 2019-2021 batch may increase further

IIM Udaipur PGP 2019-21 batch size is 260 students.

IIM Udaipur Placements
IIM Udaipur Placement 2018 got concluded with its student grabbing international offer of Rs.53 lakhs. The IIMU has seen higher average salary, more first time recruiters and more placement offers to its students. The Domestic and International offers were made by 62 recruiters to 170 students of the Institute. Pay packages both national as well international shot up in placement 2018 as compared to placement 2017.

The class of PGP 2016-18 had 31% women students. There were 179 students in the batch, 7 students did not seek placement or planned entrepreneurship ventures. Two students did not get placement through the campus.

13.88% of the students were offered pre-placement job offers (PPO) and pre placement interview opportunities (PPI) based on their performance during the Summer Internship. The unique feature in the process was the diversity of profiles offered to the students. The largest numbers of offers were made in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance followed by Information Technology.

Internships at IIM Udaipur

  • After completing the first year of studies, students at IIM Udaipur undertake a mandatory internship- either an experiential learning opportunity at a company location or an opportunity to develop their own entrepreneurial project.
  • Corporate internships can take place either in India or internationally in locations that have included Dubai, Qatar, London and Malaysia. It is a chance to apply the academic theories and concepts they have learned to real issues faced by organizations.
  • The International Business in Practice course is a unique second year elective that gives more than one third of the students the chance to work for two weeks on a live business problem in a company in another South Asian country or the Middle East.
  • PGP's compulsory Rural Immersion requires the students spending a week in a village where they work closely with NGOs to appreciate on-the-ground realities and challenges faced by those at the bottom of the pyramid.
