ATMA Analysis over the last three years
The AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is the MBA entrance exam organized by Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) since 2000. ATMA has been approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India for admission on All India Basis to the MBA / PGDM and other Postgraduate Programmes like MCA.
The test is of three hours and it contains 170 multiple choice questions. The areas covered in the test are Quantitative, Verbal and Analytical Reasoning skills. For a correct answer a candidate gets 1 mark and for an incorrect answer 1/3rd marks is deducted for each question.

ATMA 2010 Analysis
ATMA 2010 followed the similar pattern as the ATMA 2009. There were 170 questions to be attempted within 180 minutes. There were three areas, Quantitative skills, Verbal skills and Analytical Reasoning skills. There were two sections in each area. The difficulty level of the paper was Moderate.
The number of questions in the Verbal Ability area, including Reading Comprehension and Verbal skills was 50. The difficulty level of the Reading Comprehension section was Easy to Moderate. The Verbal skills area was of Moderate difficulty level. The questions were mainly on Synonyms/Antonyms, Fill in the blanks and other grammatical questions.
The Quantitative skills section had 60 questions divided equally within both the sections. The Arithmetic section consisted of questions on Time & Work, Time & Distance, Numbers, Progressions, Geometry, Mensuration, Average, Percentage etc. The Higher Math area consisted of questions on P & C and Probability. Overall, the difficulty level of the Quantitative skills section can be rated as Moderate.
The Analytical Reasoning questions were on Deductions, Linear and Circular Arrangements, Data Sufficiency, Input Output, Distribution, Inferences, Cause Effect, Decision Making, etc. The Critical Reasoning area included questions on Strong and Weak Arguments, Assumptions, Conclusions etc. Overall, this section can be described as moderately difficult.

Eligibility
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in order to sit for the ATMA exam. Those who are in the final year of their graduation can also apply for the same.

The last ATMA exam was held on Sunday, February 14, 2010. On the basis of the deadlines of the last exam, the expected dates for ATMA 2011 are as follows:
