The topic for this year’s conclave is ‘Information Technology: beating the downturn, charting new horizons’
Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University will hold its IT conclave, Kshitij 2009, on the theme ‘Information Technology: beating the downturn, charting new horizons’ on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the Delhi University Conference Center. “Information Technology and outsourcing have been the growth drivers behind Indian economy’s surge into the ranks of the developed nations. With the coming of the global slowdown, the outsourcing industry in India has had to face the brunt on account of IT budgetary cutbacks the world over,” FMS, one of the top business schools situated in Delhi, said.
According to FMS, the first session of the event is on ‘The evolution of delivery models in IT – the path ahead’. “What are the main challenges for IT leaders in the current economy and how do leaders perceive the industry to change once the recession is over? These are some of the topics the speakers will deliberate during the event. Key findings and teachings form the current economic crisis will also be discussed which would enable the industry to be better prepared in the future,” FMS explained.
The second session will delve on ‘GenNext IT Leadership: Contribution beyond Business Value’. This session will see issues like the current delivery models prevalent in the market and the need for change; the future of IT outsourcing; evolution of the global delivery model, employee utilization; Indian IT industry: Looking inward; targeting of domestic demand; and if there is a need to migrate from providing mere services to product development.
