The Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA) has decided not to accept the CAT scores for the admission to the 2010-12 batch. The MBA institute mentions the delay in results of CAT 2009 as the main reason for not accepting the scores for their admission.
“With reference to delay in CAT result, MICA invites all candidates applying to MICA through CAT 2009 to take MICAT for Admissions to PGDM (C) 2010-2012,” states MICA in their official website.
MICAT will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010. The last date for application for MICAT is Wednesday, January 27, 2010.
The institute generally accepts CAT and GMAT scores and shortlists the candidates for taking MICAT (Mica Common Admission Test), the MBA Institute’s own admission test. This year, MICA will thus accept the GMAT score of December 31, 2007 or later for taking the MICAT.
MICAT will be held in the cities of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow and Kolkata. In the centers of Bhopal and Lucknow, MICA will be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) format.
The step taken by MICA has raised a new question now. Will the other MBA institutes also follow suit and reject the CAT 2009 scores? Though no such announcement has been made so far but it has given rise to this new implication all together.
