The MBAUniverse.com Poll has revealed some interesting figures on India's top B-schools, the IIMs and the ISB. To the question: "Ranked at No.12 by FT, do you think ISB is ahead of IIMs?" 53% respondents have said ‘Yes’ and 42% respondents have said ‘No’. 5% have clicked on ‘Can’t Say’. The respondents, totaling 114, included members of the management fraternity, students and working executives. The poll was conducted from 25 to 29 January 2010.
Both of the B-schools, the IIMs and ISB, are almost neck to neck in the poll results. The poll shows that ISB is fast becoming a viable alternative to the IIMs. ISB was the only Indian B-school to find place in the recently released ranking of top 100 B-schools across the globe by the London-based newspaper Financial Times. The MBA school has beaten leading global B-schools such as Yale, Kelloggs in the global rankings.
The global recognition of ISB certainly provides boost to the Indian B-schools that are privately run. The other B-schools can learn lot of lessons from the way ISB has been able to reach at the top in just few years of time. The course content, the experienced faculty, opportunities for students to interact with the industry have led to the emergence of ISB as an alternative to the IIMs.
