The apex body of management profession in the country, the All India Management Association (AIMA), will celebrate its Foundation Day on February 22 in New Delhi. On the same day the National Management Day will also be celebrated. Mr P Chidambaram, Union Minister for Home Affairs and Mr T K A Nair, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister have been invited for the function.
The function will be attended by over 400 management professionals from the public sector, senior government functionaries, leading management professors and management students.
In keeping with high tradition of recognizing excellence, AIMA will also present its Awards for Management Excellence on this occasion. The Award jury was chaired by Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group, who will introduce the theme and the Awardees.
The Awardees
The JRD Tata Corporate Leadership Award goes to Mr O P Bhatt, Chairman, State Bank of India. He will also give the JRD Tata Corporate Leadership Award Lecture at the inaugural session.
Mr M Damodaran, Former Chairman, SEBI and Mr D R Mehta, Founder & Chief Patron, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti will receive the Public Service Excellence Award.
The Life Time Achievement award will be bestowed upon Mr R C Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
In addition to these, AIMA will also present the AIMA-Dr J S Juneja Award – Creativity & Innovation for Small & Medium Enterprises and “Dr Ram Tarneja Award” for Best Article in Indian Management.
Management Day
The Management Day session will be addressed by Mr Tarun Das, President, Aspen Institute and Mr Andrew Harrison, COO, Delhi International Airport (DIAL). The theme for the session is “Managing India: Turning a Dream into Reality.”
