FMS MBA (MS) to organize FINANZA ’09

A wide range of issues would be discussed about the financial crisis and the road to recovery that is to be followed

The Faculty of Management Studies MBA (Management of Services) is organizing the annual finance conclave, Finanza ’09, on the theme ‘Managing Economic Recovery’. The event will be held at the FMS Auditorium, University of Delhi, on September 13, 2009.

“There would be hardly anyone today who is unaware of the terms ‘slowdown’, ‘recession’, ‘downturn’. We, at FMS, are no exceptions. But, we have a different perspective in mind when we talk about recession. We focus not on the problems, but on the solutions. We focus not only on the future, but also on the lessons to be learnt from the past,” a student from the FMS MBA (MS) program said.

Eminent personalities will be present at the event to share their perspectives on how the recovery will be attained and sustained. Some of the speakers include, Navneet Munot, Chief Investments Officer, SBI MF; Naveen Gupta, Head, Private Banking Treasury, Standard Chartered Bank; Anup Kapadia, Director, NM Rothschild; Sachin Gupta, Business Head, CRISIL Ratings; Atul Kumar Rai, CEO & MD, IFCI Ltd.; Gyan Mohan, Exec VP, Head IB, IDBI Capital; Rajesh Parthasarthy, V-P, Calyon Bank; Varun Gupta, MD, American Appraisal; Shailesh Singh, Director Investments, 2i Capital; and Manasvi Srivastav, Sr V-P, BMR Advisors Pvt. Ltd.
 
“Finanza, as an event, attempts to put the finance and economics gurus on the same platform as the enthusiasts and MBA program students, for an enriching discussion on economic recovery. A wide range of issues would be discussed about the financial crisis, its spread and impact, and most importantly, the road to recovery that is to be followed,” the FMS MBA (MS) program student said.

With the leaders of the industry and academia of leading schools offering various MBA programs collaborating for the event, Finanza ‘09 is sure to be an enlightening experience for any and everyone, according to the students of FMS MBA (MS).
