If you are an inventor who wants to take complete
ownership of your project, but still not interested
to start your own business, does that make you an entrepreneur?
Symphony's CEO Romesh Wadhwani believes that entrepreneurship
reflects the "ability to smell an opportunity,
to solve problems in an innovative way and to improvise
on the environment". By extension, entrepreneurship
can be created within organizations too.
In fact, there is also a name for it - Intrapreneurship.
With increasing decentralization in big businesses,
intrapreneurship has come to define the new age manager.
An intrapreneur has an entrepreneurial mindset and pushes
for continuous generation of innovative ideas within
the organization. He takes complete ownership of his
unit and runs it as his own start-up.
