CAT 2016 Percentile for IIMs; CAT 2016 Cut offs for IIMs for IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore and other IIMs calls
Post CAT 2016 result declaration on January 9, 2017, the major worry of the aspirants is what would be the cut offs at IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, FMS Delhi and whether they would get the call from IIMs on the basis of their CAT 2016 scores.
CAT 2016 result consists of more high percentilers with greater deviation in sectional percentiles. But with the changed admission policy for flagship PGP 2017-19 batch, IIMs will award more weightage to other parameters than only to CAT 2016 scores. All the IIMs who have announced their admission policy for 2017-19 batch will shortlist the candidates independent of one another. Hence it is not necessary that you will be shortlisted by IIM Ahmedabad if you are shortlisted by IIM Calcutta or vice-versa
Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have not only revised the admission policy for the forthcoming academic session commencing 2016 but have also increased their intake and have liberalized the shortlisting criteria to improve academic and gender diversity in their class rooms. It is expected that 55000 MBA aspirants will be shortlisted by IIMs only out of 1.80 lakh candidates who took CAT 2015 exam. Out of this number, 5500 are proposed to be offered final admission letter by these IIMs in order of merit, if they fulfill the eligibility criteria and qualify the minimum required cut off percentile.
MBAUniverse.com team, on analysis of CAT 2016 result trends expects that the candidates with low percentile score may expect a dip in sectional score requirement in new IIMs and can explore admission opportunities in them while the top rated IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta and Lucknow may have much higher overall and sectional CAT 2016 percentile cut offs.
