Would love to attend a short-term management program but can’t dare to ask for leaves? NIIT Imperia claims it can help you brush up and learn more about MBA, that too without missing out a single day at office. The NIIT Imperia has come up with a course on Advanced Program in Competitive Strategy (APCS) in collaboration with the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon.
According to the course director and professor of Strategy and Industrial Economics at MDI, Dr Amit Kapoor, it is an advanced management program for senior and middle-level managers, profit centre heads, consultants who deal with strategic roles and those who are looking to move into roles that would require handling strategic issues. He said, “This program will help the decision makers build key strategic decision-making tools and analyse their competitive environment, taking into account shifts in technology, regulation, and the presence of international competitors.”
Dr Kapoor said that the program, which has been scheduled to begin from June 29, 2009, will conclude after three months and the candidates would be awarded with a certificate of participation from MDI. “I will conduct the program from NIIT Imperia Delhi studio which is connected live to NIIT Imperia centres situated at 18 cities. This will allow participants to attend weekend classes with the convenience of not leaving work,” he said. The course for which applications will be accepted until June 13, 2009 has been scheduled on weekends for the convenience of working managers. The program, according to the course director, will focus on how companies develop new capabilities, moving from being strong national competitors to international market players.
While explaining how the participants would benefit from the course, Dr Kapoor said, “The students would be taking up group projects related to their companies and hence it would enhance their knowledge about respective fields to a great extent. They will be exposed to state-of-the-art tools in strategic analysis, market analysis, identifying profit drivers, and coordinating functional strategies. I will also conduct a two-day project tour where the participants would be given various live projects to work on. They will be expected to operate within their sales-generated funds and compete in the market.”
