More
and more executives are evaluating their
current career path and their future
aspirations. Many see Executive Education,
offered by the likes of ISB, IIMs PGPX,
NIIT Imperia, U21Global and many others
B-schools, as the tool to accelerate
their career. However they often seek
expert opinion about relevance and methodology
of Executive Education, and that is
hard to get by. AskMBAUniverse.com hopes
to fill this gap with a new section
on Executive Education on AskMBAUniverse.com.
Q.Dear Sir, I have done Master of Pharmacy; doing job in Pharma MNC in International Drug Regulatory Affairs. My job profile includes Registration (Market Authorization) of Products in various countries. I have around 2 years of experience. Means my field is sort of Technical & Planning. As such pace of growth is O.K. I am also thinking of moving abroad for better opportunities in my field. As such I am not satisfied with the pace of growth. Could you please suggest me which executive qualification is better for me to move ahead? After how much experience I should to go for opting Executive Programs. As I think, MBA persons are just like beaurocrats which rule over the technocrats. (Dated: May 12, 2009)(Gaurav Gupta - Gurgaon, NCR)
A.Dear Gaurav: You may think of doing an Executive MBA from some reputed institution. A good Executive MBA will definitely improve your chances of career growth and you may also get an opportunity to prove yourself in your chosen career.

Q.Hi, I have 5 yr of experience in IT field & looking for 1 year MBA option for going to Business side or other career option. I am planning to give GMAT on Sept/Oct. What are the colleges besides ISB, Great Lakes, IIM A, IIM C that should I think of with good placement records? Is there any collage that starts from Jan 10 as I want to enroll as early as possible for the course due to personal reasons? (Dated: May 12, 2009)(Sourabh - Mumbai)
A.Dear Saurabh: In addition to ISB, Great Lakes, IIM A, IIM C offering 1 year executive MBA, there are some other top B Schools offering it including IIM Bangalore, IIM Indore, and a few other good private schools. The most important thing for you to consider is the track record of the institute and you can check this by talking to those who have done this course from the institute you plan to join. There may be colleges that start EMBA from Jan 10 but I personally do not know.

A.I would advise you to enroll for part-time or distance learning management programs that help you to run your own business. I do not recommend that you go in for full-length or Executive MBAs. Consider programs on Management of Family Owned Businesses, or SME Management.
