JMET Analysis over the last three years
The Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is the entrance exam for the two-year full-time postgraduate programs in management at the Indian Institutes of Technologies (IITs) namely Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee.
The exam is of duration of 180 minutes and had 120 questions in total. The exam tests the areas of Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Verbal Communication. Each multiple choice question carries one mark and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer.

JMET 2010 Analysis
The overall difficulty level of the paper was Moderate to Difficult. The number of questions was 120. The Verbal Ability section consisted of questions on Reading Comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. The questions of this section were of moderate to difficult difficulty level.
The Reasoning section had questions on verbal and logical reasoning. The difficulty level of the section was easy to moderate and moderate to difficult. The Quantitative Ability section had questions on Geometry and Arithmetic. The topics of the questions were on time-speed-distance, permutation-combination-probability, linear programming, Algebra and logic based. This section was also of easy to moderate difficulty level. The Data Interpretation section was easiest among the other sections. This section had seven sets with data representation in the form of line graph, bar graph, pie chart etc. There was good mix of the questions based on the sets involving simple and lengthy calculations.
JMET 2010 Eligibility
The eligibility of JMET varies from the different IIT institutes. The minimum eligibility for the IIT MBA schools is that the candidate should obtain a first class Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Work experience is desirable but not mandatory.
Important Dates for JMET
JMET 2010 was held on Sunday, December 13, 2009. Based on the last year’s dates, below are the expected deadlines for JMET 2011.
Exam Date: Sunday, December 12, 2010
Registration : From Monday, September 6, 2010 to Friday, October 15, 2010
Result: Monday, Jan 3, 2011
