MAH-CET Analysis over the last three yearss
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH-CET) is one of the biggest state level MBA entrance exam organized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. MAH-CET is the gateway for the MBA schools that come under the various universities of Maharashtra. JBIMS and We School are some of the top MBA Schools that accept MAH-CET scores.
In this MBA entrance exam there is no negative marking. Though there is no particular section-wise segregation in the paper, the areas which are tested are Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Non verbal Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. The duration of the paper is 150 minutes.

MAH-CET 2010 Analysis
The MAH-CET 2010 paper was unexpectedly easy. The paper was of 150 minutes and had 200 questions. There were five choices with each question. The sections were not divided in the paper. The overall difficulty level of the paper was from easy to moderate.
The Quantitative Ability section was quite easy and it had 10 questions on the BODMAS. Other questions were on the topics of Time-Speed-Distance, Profit Loss, Geometry, Ratios and Permutation and Combinations.
In the Verbal Ability section there was one RC passage which had 15 questions. There were 40 questions on Verbal Ability including Fill in the blanks, Para jumble, sentence correction, parenthesis and Critical Reasoning.
The Reasoning area had 55 questions from the topics of alphanumeric series, conditional coding, number series, linear and circular arrangement, symbol based comparison, selection and word arrangement machine.
The number of non-verbal reasoning questions had increased from last year.
The Visual Reasoning questions were on the topics of series completion, wrong element in the series, dissimilar pair. There were no questions on the analogy. One of the sets was difficult to attempt.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the candidates to apply for the MBA entrance exam of MAH-CET is Bachelor’s Degree in a Full Time Course from any University recognized by Association of Indian Universities with minimum 50 per cent aggregate. Candidates belonging to the backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra state only should have 45 per cent minimum aggregate.
Students who are in the final year of their graduation and have appeared for their final exam are also eligible to apply.

MAH-CET 2010 was held on Sunday, February 21, 2010. On the basis of this years important dates, the expected deadlines for MAH-CET 2011 are as follows:

Last date of sale of Application forms: Tuesday, February 1, 2010
Last date of submission of the completed forms: Wednesday, February 2, 2010
Results: Monday, April 4, 2011
Application Process
The online application should be done by visiting the official DTE website. Prior to that, candidates have to buy the application kit from the listed post offices of Maharashtra. The application should be submitted online. The instructions for which will be given in the application kit only.
Participating Institutes
All institutes under the Universities of Maharashtra like Mumbai University, Pune University, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon etc accept MAH-CET scores. Prominent MBA Schools like Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), We School etc. also accept MAH-CET scores.
