Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), MuMBAi had its inauguration and orientation program of the First Year Full-Time MBA Core, MBA (Capital Markets), MBA (Actuarial Science) and MBA (Banking)-2010 Batch of SBM on Monday, June 14, 2010, at the campus.

The Chief Guest for the day was Ajit Gupte, Senior Vice President, Reliance Industries Ltd. Gupte, who is also an alumnus of the 1984 batch of the B School, spoke fondly of his student days in the alma mater. While recounting some memorable experiences from his long and illustrious career, he emphasized the need to imbibe basic human values and also dwelt on the importance of taking judicious decisions to defuse explosive situations.

In the welcome address, Dr. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS, gave the students an overview of the growth of NMIMS. Thereafter, the academic brief was presented by Dr Chandan Dasgupta, Associate Dean, MBA program. Varsha Parab, Registrar, next shared with the students some of the do's and don'ts that they would need to keep in mind while studying at the University.

Chairperson Corporate Relations & Placements, Shobha Pai subsequently spoke to the students about the placement process followed in the institute and highlighted the need for a value system. Thereafter Psychologist & Counselor Meeta Shah apprised them of the importance counseling in dealing with anxieties and the adverse emotional and physical impact of stress.  In the 'Meet your seniors' session that followed, Rajendra Hegde, President' Student Council and his team, interacted with the new batch of students.
