IMT Ghaziabad and XIMB hits the new session with their MBA orientation programs for the batch of 2010-2012. XIMB started on June 17 whereas IMT came up on June 21.

Joining the league of several other B-schools, IMT Ghaziabad and Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) also had their MBA commencement. XIMB began its new session with a three day long MBA orientation program started on Thursday, June 17 whereas IMT Ghaziabad opened up on Monday, June 21 with their MBA orientation program.

Talking about XIMB for the Academic Year 2010-11, the B-school mentioned that they started with an MBA Orientation Program for the batch of 2010-2012 of both PGDM and PGDM – RM courses, spread over three days from June 17 to 19, 2010. The total batch strength this year is 240 students, with 182 students in the flagship Business Management course and 58 students in the Rural Management course.

Day 1 of the XIMB MBA Orientation Program was dedicated to an introduction to the batch profile, the curriculum and work to be expected over the next 2 years. The faculty formally introduced themselves to the new students, with a more informal interaction between the batch and the faculty over tea. Day 2 was an ice-breaker session, where students were divided into groups, and competed against each other in fun team-building exercises throughout the day, in order to facilitate everyone getting to know their fellow batch mates during the XIMB MBA Commencement.

Day 3 included a session on introduction to the case-study methodology of instruction, followed by sessions on discipline and conduct. The XIMB MBA orientation program concluded with an introductory session with the faculty placement council. 

Institute of Management Technology i.e. IMT Ghaziabad organized its 'MBA Orientation Programme' for its two years Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) for the MBA Commencement batch of 2010-2012 on June 21, 2010.

Debashis Das, GM (Marketing), Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd and Pradeep Kashyap, MD, Mart Rural Solutions were the chief guests for this occasion of IMT Ghaziabad MBA Commencement. Dr. Mukesh Chaturvedi, Acting Director, led the welcome address and delivered the inaugural speech to the new batch. 

In his welcome address Dr. Chaturvedi said “Over the past few years, there have been dramatic shifts in the global marketplace as we witnessed boundaries and economies converging into an integrated economy. The strategic teaching methodology followed by IMT Ghaziabad facilitates enhanced learning and the International student exchange programme provides the students with an opportunity to understand the dynamics of global marketplace”.

Elaborating on the MBA program Dr. Mukesh Chaturvedi said, "Aimed at inculcating habits such as team-work, sharing resources etc., the students will also be taken through an elaborate out-bound program, which will facilitate the students during the course and also in their working lives.

Dr. Chaturvedi guided the students on how they could truly benefit from management education program and gear up for the dynamic business scenario. He also shared views on how knowledge management could help the students become better professionals.

The MBA orientation program will last for a week starting June 21, 2010.
