Only 5 more days are left for the CAT 2010 registration to end. The sale of the Vouchers ends on Monday, September 27, 2010, but still many of you are feeling that you have enough time to buy the form and register, the deadline for which is Thursday, September 30, 2010. For those of you, who are yet to register, MBAUniverse.com provides you a step by step guideline for CAT 2010 registration. You can view what exactly you will need to do.

Here is the step by step guide.

1.  Enter the Voucher Number: The first step is to enter your Voucher number and entering the special characters called Captchas. Make sure you type the Voucher number and Captchas correctly. The Captchas are to ensure that the CAT 2010 exam is being registered by a human being and not a computerized program. After entering the Voucher number and Captchas, click on ‘Begin my Registration’.

2.  Create your Profile: The next page that opens in front of you is that of Create a Profile. You need to create your profile in this page by submitting your name, email address creating login details such as username and password which will be used for your further visit to the CAT registration site, phone numbers and postal address. Don’t miss to click Yes on the question of agreement with Prometric. After you have entered all the information, click on Save & Continue to go to the next page.

3.  Personal Information, IIM programs & Interview: In the second page of creating your profile, you need to fill up the other necessary description about yourself. The information which you need to provide about yourself are your Gender, Nationality, Category which includes General, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Non-Creamy Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC), Date of Birth, whether you are a person with disability, if yes then of which type and if you need support for taking the CAT 2010 exam, the IIM programs you want to apply, choose city for interview, if you are applying to non-IIM institutes as well.

4.  Education background & work experience: The next page is about your educational background, work experience and declaration of the candidate. You need to mention whether you have completed your SSC, HSC, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and Professional Course. If yes, then the percentage of marks, Board, Stream, Subjects and University. If you have work experience, then you have to mention the duration of working in months and the sector you have worked in. If in any case you find that your subject of study or sector of working is not there, you have to click on the option of ‘Any Other’ or ‘Other’.

5.  Schedule your test: The next step is to schedule your test. Once you select the State or Union Territory you want to take your test in, you will see the test centers of that area. When you select the test center, you have to select your date and time amongst the two slots, i.e. 10 am and 3.30 pm. Note that you will have to reach the test center two hours prior to the test time. So if you have selected the time of 10 am, you have to reach the test center at 8 am.

6. Completing the Registration process: This ends your registration process for CAT 2010. You will view a confirmation page which says that your registration is now complete.

7. Edit Profile & Application check your status: You will also receive an email in the email address you had provided while creating your profile. The email will contain the details of the registration like CAT Registration number,   Personal Information, Work Experience, Educational Information and Interview Center. You will also receive your Admit Card within 24 hours of your registration. This page also shows you all the information which have posted. In case you want to change any information, you can click on the option Edit Profile or Edit Application to incorporate those changes.

You can check the status of your profile and CAT Application in this page. If you have completed the process successfully, you will see COMPLETE written in blue. But if it is not, you will see PENDING written in red. After you complete the process, click on I am done (exit) tab. This completes your registration process for CAT 2010.
