Traditionally, B-schools across the world have relied upon scholarly journals to conduct research. There is a trend worldwide to widen the tools. Open access journals, working papers, dissertations, conference proceedings combined with many other resources to support action-based learning are now gaining popularity.
Access to these resources is now being supported by technology. e-Learning resource providers are now stepping in to support Indian B-schools in this context, but there are still not many takers, leaving aside a few top B-schools.
India’s leading management institutes, such as IIMA, IIMB, IIMC, and ISB are leveraging e-Learning Resources of leading resource providers, such as Emerald, EBSCO, Pearson, ProQuest, and Harvard Business Publishing, to make their research output more relevant and on par with global standards. But there is a big gap as the remaining B-schools are getting nowhere near, resulting in overall low research output.
In this scenario there is an urgent need to discuss ways of creating awareness about e-Learning resources and also think of the ways in which e-Learning resources can foster a climate of research in the campuses of B-schools across the country.
