TAPMI Manipal Placement 2015: Achieves 100% placement again; IT ITES corporate dominate the show

Flying the flag high and consistently achieving 100% placement in 2015, T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) Manipal has concluded the Placement 2015 well ahead of time. Although TAPMI Manipal began its placement process later than number of top rated B schools, but completed it much earlier than many of them.

 

Beating the economic slowdown, the placement 2015 at TAPMI reflected an upward swing in recruitment with more recruiters offering good placement packages while recruiters competed among themselves in offer of more jobs.

 

Key Trends in placement 2015 at TAPMI

 

TAPMI has a consistent record of 100% placement. The placement season 2015 was no exception to the feat.

 

There were 391 students of PGDM 2013-15 batch seeking placement 2015. All the 391 students seeking placement got suitable offers and the process was over well ahead of time.

 

Number of recruiters

 

Placement 2015 at TAPMI witnessed a rise in number of recruiters. The placement process saw open doors from 107 companies across the country with more job offers

 

Rise in PPOs

 

Pre placement offers (PPOs) also saw a rise in placement 2015. Students were offered 18 PPOs at TAPMI from recruiters.
 

High Packages

 

The average take home package for the batch went up to Rs. 8.70 lakhs from the last year’s amount of Rs.8.41 lakhs. The highest domestic offer was made by Microsoft at Rs. 14.55 lakhs. This year’s placement also included one international company that hired 2 students with a package of Rs.15 lakhs.

 

IT/ITeS: Major recruiting segment

 

Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology enabled Services (ITeS) emerged as the prominent recruiting sector in placement 2015 at TAPMI. 41.1% of students were hired by the IT-ITES sector with 30 companies being a part of it followed by the consulting sector with 9 companies coming in for placements and hiring 15.09% of students.

 

Banking and Financial institutions hired 15.34% of students across 18 companies, and the manufacturing sector hired 8.7% of students across 9 companies. The other sectors that were a part of TAPMI’s placements included, FMCG, analytics, e-commerce, m-commerce, pharma and health care, logistics, telecom and education training sector.
 

Placement Process

 

A rigorous selection process that included elementary screening, group discussions and personal interviews was the part of placement 2015 adopted by the recruiters. TAPMI students worked relentlessly to prove their mettle and succeeded in achieving the target of 100% placement.
