Application Process

The online application should be done by visiting the official DTE website. Prior to that, candidates have to buy the application kit from the listed post offices of Maharashtra. The application should be submitted online. The instructions for which will be given in the application kit only.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the candidates to apply for the MBA entrance exam of MAH - CET 2010 is Bachelor’s Degree in a Full Time Course from any University recognized by Association of Indian Universities with minimum 50 per cent aggregate. Candidates belonging to the backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra state only should have 45 per cent minimum aggregate.

Students who are in the final year of their graduation and have appeared for their final exam are also eligible to apply.

From this Academic year for the 15 per cent All India Quota, the candidates who have appeared for CAT 2009 are only eligible. Candidates who have appeared/appearing for MAT (Feb 2010), ATMA, XAT, JMET are eligible only for Institute level seats. Those candidates who did not appeared for CAT 2009 and aspiring to seek admission against all India Seats in Maharashtra State are required to appear for MAH-MBA/ MMS-CET 2010.

Institute

All institutes under the Universities of Maharashtra like Mumbai University, Pune University, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon etc. Prominent MBA Schools like Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), We School etc. also accept MAH-CET scores.

Test Pattern

The paper contains 200 multiple choice questions with five options. The duration of the paper is 150 minutes. There is no negative marking in the paper. There is no section wise division in the paper. The areas covered in the paper are Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Non verbal Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.

T.I.M.E. mentioned that the MAH – CET 2009 paper was a little difficult and lengthier in comparison to the 2008 paper. The questions were based on Selection Criteria (Decision Making), Probability, Coding Decoding and Deductions were pretty straightforward and simple. The questions on Verbal Reasoning and Quant sections were few. There were no Arithmetic questions.

Results

The result for the exam will be declared on Monday, April 5, 2010.


Test Centers

The exam will be coordinated over 12 cities in India. The cities are Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mysore and Raipur.
