Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is a common written test for the admission to all the Post-Graduate programs of Symbiosis International University (SIU). SNAP 2011 Analysis
SNAP 2011 exam was held on Sunday, December 18, 2011. The pattern
of the exam remained the same as previous years. The overall
difficulty of the paper was moderate to tough. However, the
questions in all the sections had easy, moderate and tough questions.
The total number of the questions was 150. The total marks of
the paper was 180. The duration of the paper was 120 minutes
or two hours. The sections of the exam were General English,
Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency,
General Awareness and Analytical & Logical Reasoning.
General English section had 40 questions with one mark each. The questions ranged from the areas like Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Para-jumbles and Grammar and English Usage. There were six questions asked from the Reading Comprehension area. The Vocabulary area had questions based on analogy, synonyms, antonyms and figure of speech.
The Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency section had 40 questions. The areas from which the questions came were Time, Speed & Distance; Directions; Work & Time, Profit & Loss; Permutation & Combination, Probability, Miscellaneous; Percentages; Algebra; Pie Chart; Bar Graph; Geometry, Mensuration & Coordinate Geometry.
The Analytical & Logical Reasoning section had 30 questions of The difficulty level of the section was tough. The areas from which the questions arrived were Critical Reasoning, Deductive logic & logical consistency; Logical & Mathematical Reasoning; Directions, Cubes, Analogy, Sequence & Series, Blood Relations etc.
The number of questions in this area is 40 and had one mark
each. The questions were from Static GK, Current GK and Business
GK. The overall difficulty level was tough. The maximum number
of the questions was from Current Affairs and Business GK saw
the least number of questions.
SNAP Eligibility
The candidates must be Graduates in any discipline
from statutory University with minimum of 50 per cent marks.
SNAP Registration Process
There are three steps in the SNAP registration process.
You have to upload a latest scanned photograph at the time of
online registration. This will generate your SNAP ID. The registration
fee for SNAP 2011 was Rs. 1550. The Admit Cards will be available
thereafter at the SNAP website. You have to bring the Admit
Card and a Photo ID Card to the test center.
SNAP Important Dates
SNAP 2011 was conducted on Sunday, December 11, 2011.
The exam was announced on August 2011. The registration process
was conducted from August to November, 2011. The result was
declared on January 12, 2012.
SNAP 2012 is also expected to follow the similar timeline.
SNAP Participating Institutes
SNAP scores are accepted by the institutes under Symbiosis
International University. The B-schools which accept the scores
of SNAP include Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM),
Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB), Symbiosis
Center for Management & Human Resource Development (SCMHRD),
Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Symbiosis
Institute of Telecom Management (SITM), Symbiosis Institute
of Operations Management (SIOM) and Symbiosis School of Banking
Management (SSBM).
