Excerpts from the interview:

Q: What is your advice to MBA aspirants for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round?

A: You should read newspapers on daily basis. It will also be good to read up a lot on current hot topics on the Internet as well. I had attended a day-long session at one of the test prep institutes in Mumbai that gave me some idea on GDs and PIs, but otherwise was not of too much help. Reading well is the key.

Q: What success mantras would you like to share with the MBA aspirants for GD PI?

A: Be yourself, don’t lie. Focus on your strengths and drive the interview. What that means is to prepare a CV that will drive the interviewer towards your strong points. In GD, use your voice to command attention, but it is not a substitute for good points. Make sure you listen to others. Make one or two strong arguments, and the rest can be adjustments to the view points of other participants. Do not raise your voice too much, or intimidate others.
