IIMs & leading B-schools offer accelerated programmes for executives

IIM-A’s PGPX was the first amongst top B-schools to offer this type of programme. The programme is a coveted programme in this category. Says Chairperson of IIM-A PGPX, Prof Arvind Sahay, “The program has now begun to gain high levels of acceptance amongst corporates in India and abroad. The average GMAT is 724 (up from 699) making it, if not the highest, one of the highest in the world. The batch size has increased to 78 (up from 60). The number of applications has gone up to 1347 (up from 750). We achieved 100% placement for the first two batches with the second batch having an average salary of Rs. 26 lakhs. Both graduating batches have got CXO level positions.”

The third batch of IIM-A PGPX is currently in progress (programme starts in April every year), and admission process in currently open for fourth batch starting April 2009.

IIM L's IPMX is a full time, one year residential executive programme which has Recently launched in April 2008 at the IIM L's NOIDA Campus. Talking about the programme, Prof Punam Sahgal, Dean of IIM-L's Noida Campus said, "The unique thing of our IPMX programme is the internship at Canada's leading institution McGill University which will provide students with the opportunity for an international learning experience to equip them with the knowledge and perspective relevant to current global business issues."

IIM A PGPX is a full time residential programme for executives with substantial work experience leading to a One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives. Participants are selected through a rigorous admissions process that includes GMAT, leadership profiling and personal interviews. The programme has a general management focus, with emphasis on managing across borders and cultures.

IIM-C’s PGPEX is a one-year full time residential programme for executives with potential for top management positions. To get into this programme executives need minimum 5 years of full time post-qualification professional experience and GMAT score.

IIM-Indore offers an 18 month Exe-PGP which is designed for the working executives and entrepreneurs. The candidature should have a minimum of 5 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience. The selection would be based on performance in CAT/GMAT, personal interview, candidate's academic record, scholastic achievements, and relevant work experience after graduation.

IIM L 's IPMX is a full time, one year residential executive programme which has Recently launched in April 2008 at the IIM L 's NOIDA Campus. Programme is open for executives with minimum 6 years full time post-qualification professional experience. The selection would be based on GMAT score.

Indian School of Business offers one year full time Post Graduate Programme in Management. The programme is aimed for professionals with work experience of two years of work experience. The candidates would be selected on the basis of educational background, work experience and good GMAT score.

Mumbai based S P Jain Institute of Management & Research also offers 12 months in addition of 6 months online learning Post Graduate Programe in Management in Mumbai and another 12 months Global MBA Programme in Dubai and Singapore. For therse programmes, the candidates would be selected on the basis of CAT/GMAT/XAT score and personal interviews.
