IIMs have admitted that CAT scorecards available officially to non-IIMs for admission year 2012-13 have been ‘tampered’ with inflated scores of some candidates.
According to IIMs, scorecards of as many as 80 testing IDs available on official CAT website have been found inflated as compared to the actual scores available with IIMs in the master datasheet of CAT 2012 scorecards.
The fate of 80 odd students are yet to be decided. While this comes as an alert and a major disruption for top non-IIM B-schools who offered admissions on the basis of CAT 2012 scores, it will also cause a fresh controversy on entire admission process for academic year 2013-15 conducted on the basis of CAT 2012 scores.
We will update the latest developments on this CAT Goof Up in this forum.

After all the issues happened in CAT Examination. Its regaining its image on a full speed. Accelerating all the possible things to regain the image of India's most respected exam. No need for fear ,now candidates need to focus on their preparation rather than involving in other things.Exam getting very closer.Dedicate your time for your preparation and perform well.Good luck !
While some of the top B-schools have sought to downplay the impact on admission to their 2013-15 batches, MBAUniverse.com investigation confirms that many of the students are finally selected into flagship programmes of different top B-schools across the country.
Most of the 80 candidates listed in the IIM notification also appeared for GD-PI from multiple top B-schools.
MBA Universe have done a great job by revealing so much of truth in the right spirit of journalism. Hope the irregularities will be plugged in CAT 2013 to avoid any mischief with the career of the MBA aspirants.
I suggest and strongly advise all the CAT 2013 aspirants not to get disheartened and continue with their preparation yet with more vigour and determination. Such things get corrected sooner or later but these are the aspirants who carve a niche in the wall. Best wishes
“A comparison of CAT 2012 scores available on the website www.catiim.in (hosted and managed by M/s Web Weavers) with master database of the scores (those received from Prometric) shows that scores of eighty examinees have been tampered/altered, resulting in inflation of scores for these examinees,” the IIMs said. A copy of the IIM notification in this regard is available with MBAUniverse.com.
