India has got 13 IIMs now, of which six are new IIMs. The six new IIMs, namely IIM Ranchi, Raipur, Rohtak,Trichy, Udaipur and Kashipur have comparatively lower cut offs, which makes it easier for a good MBA aspirant to make it to the IIMs. But on the other side of the coin, the new IIMs are under the mentorship of old IIMs and lack many basic facilities of a well established B-School. On the other hand, there are top private B-schools like SPJIMR, MDI, NMIMS, IMT, IMI etc. which are at the top in terms of infrastructure, curriculum, faculty, placements, notable alumni, etc. If you get a call from new IIMs as well as one of the top private B-schools, which one would you opt for?
