Dear Himani,
Please refer to your query on the usage of ‘Apropos of’. Let us discuss the same a little –
Apropos (Adj.)- Appropriate, pertinent, to the point – Example -The scholar is a genius he makes apropos comments. (Adj. Modifies a noun ‘comments’)
Apropos (Adv.)- Incidentally, at the appropriate time, pertinently. – Examples- Apropos what were you doing in the ground; Your gift, as usual, arrived apropos ( Adverb modifies a verb/adjective – were doing, the activity going on; arrived at the right time so apropos)
(Both as an adverb and adjective apropos means almost the same thing and both have two meanings. Pertinent and incidental which are not same)
Apropos of (Preposition) – With regard to, in respect of (Synonyms- as far as, about, as regards, as to, concerning of ) - Examples – Apropos of our discussion, I forward herewith the details of the project; Apropos of the preceding statement.......................; Apropos of the earlier correspondence, I would like to add.............
Please remember -practice the word in at least four five sentences and in case of any confusion please ask again. Best wishes,

Dear Arpit,

that is absolutely no problem- the course has unique divisions and every topic and segment is different from another. You may i) view the videos-recorded classes ii) read study material on line iii) when the next batch starts - ask the facilitator at MBA Universe to give you link for the missed classes so that you may join them as well. Besides the course is like revolving one, once it is over - we may come back to review the missed classes/topics for the benefit of those who missed them. Meanwhile read the material, view the recording, attempt the exercises and in case you find anything difficult to understand out of that, place your query on the forum. However, my suggestion is to be regular now as some of the very important sessions are running. - Best wishes

Dear Shubh,
‘still’ is giving you the message that the action started sometime back and will continue even at that time. If we remove ‘still’, it will omit the feeling of long driving time factor and will mean that we will be just starting OR will be in the process for a short while.

Dear Shubh, You might remember, while sharing the discussion on time zones ( tenses) we used the concept of non-continuous verbs. However, below is given the concept, brief list of verbs - non-continuous as well as mixed and their usage. Hope this will help -
"Non-Continuous Verbs" are usually the ones you cannot see somebody doing. These verbs are rarely used in continuous tenses. They include - to be, to want, to cost, to seem, to need, to care, to contain, to owe, to exist, to possess, to own, to belong, to like, to love, to hate, to dislike, to fear etc. Look at the examples ( Incorrect/correct sentences) with non-continuous verbs – We are needing help now.( Not Correct); We need help now.( Correct); He is wanting a drink now.( Not Correct); He wants a drink now.( Correct)
Mixed Verbs - have more than one meaning. Some meanings behave like "Non-Continuous Verbs," while other meanings behave like "Normal Verbs." Examples - to appear, to feel, to have, to hear, to look, to see, to weigh etc. Look at the example sentences -Reshma appears confused.(used as Non-Continuous Verb); My favorite singer is appearing at the jazz club tonight.( used as Normal Verb); I have some money now.( Non-Continuous Verb); I am having fun now.( Normal Verb); She hears the music. (Non-Continuous Verb); She is hearing voices. (Normal Verb) – it means She hears something others cannot hear. She is hearing voices in her mind.
- Best wishes

Dear Himani, I would suggest you to place your choice of answers as to what you think. This will give you clarity on the concept. I have however, marked the answers. The concept of active/passive, carry away/carry through-meaning to be well understood; since appointment is singular-so it should have singular verb;
1) -2. Reliable information 2) -1 is temporary 3) -1 to delay 4) -2 without ; You can not dismiss him without a good reason OR you can not dismiss him unless you have a good reason 5) -1 carried through - Best wishes

Sir plz tell one example of this type.

Dear poisonspy,
A sentence with two "had" means that the first 'had' is used as the auxiliary to past perfect and the second 'had' is used as the participle (3rd form) of the verb. For example - 1. I had had my dinner before my friend came to meet me; 2. My friend came to meet me after I had had my dinner. Both the sentences are in Past Perfect - the action completed first is to be placed in past perfect and latter action should be placed in simple past. We use - had + III form of the verb in the Past Perfect, accordingly -had + III form of have/has that is had. Another use could be in conditional unreal past - If I had had a bungalow, I would have made your stay more comfortable. I hope the concept is clear now. Best wishes

These words are close synonyms, but are not exact synonyms. The difference is subtle and amidst (or amid) is often confused.Dictionary defines amidst as "being in the middle of or surrounded by something". Example- He walked amidst the gnarled oak trees or Amidst the storm tossed sea, the small ship made slow progress toward port. But Amid fears of another recession, European leaders met to discuss the Greek debt crisis.choose from among the fine wines available but not choose from amid .... She enjoyed being among friends but not being amid friends ....You may have number of such examples. I hope the concept is clear now
