Q.I am an Electronics and telecommunication engineer passed out in the year 2009. Currently I had associated my-self with my family business in pest control (a proprietary firm). I want to pursue MBA from top-10 institutes of the country. Will my experience be counted? (Sept 30, 2009)
A.As long as you are able to communicate clearly the experience that you have derived from working in your family business, I think the panel will be able to consider it as a valid experience. (Answered by Mr. Madan Padaki, Co-founder, MeritTrac- a pioneering idea in skill assessment)

Q.Respected sir I am a engineering student of ITM, Gwalior 5th semester. In present scenario complete mass is running towards MBA degree. I have a doubt that if all are running towards MBA then there will a saturation limit and MBA, PG's will get suffocated. So should I go for MBA or MS through GRE? (Sept 30, 2009)
A.Dear Rahul, while I agree to the hypothesis that there could be a saturation limit if everyone is getting an MBA – I don’t see that happening in a demand-led market like India. While there are quite a lot of MBA graduates, the quality of the masses is suspect. So I will state my hypothesis - that in the coming years, there will always be a healthy demand for quality MBAs. Your objective should be to figure out how to stand out from a crowd, rather than running away from them. (Answered by Mr. Madan Padaki, Co-founder, MeritTrac- a pioneering idea in skill assessment)

Q.Currently I am working as software engineer with 2 yrs of experience. If I get into B School, my salary will be almost the same after 2yrs, how much I will get as software professional. Please suggest me how mba can be advantageous for my carrier. (Sept 30, 2009)
A.Dear Deepak, from your query, you seem to be confused on your career choices. It is not a given that doing an MBA will certainly lead to a higher salary – it is about the choice of career path that you are making. If you want to continue to be a software professional, and if the MBA that you choose is not adding value to that – then the market is not going to pay you for it. It is critical that you figure out your career aspirations and then arrive at the path that leads you to meeting these aspirations. (Answered by Mr. Madan Padaki, Co-founder, MeritTrac- a pioneering idea in skill assessment)

Q.Dear Sir, I am sales and marketing professional working with one of the leading company in India .I am having more than 2 yrs of experience .I have already done pg diploma in marketing management and pg diploma in public relations both one year course. Now I want to do regular mba. Should I go for executive mba or regular 2 yr mba? Also suggest me best institutes for this course. (Sept 30, 2009)
A.Dear Rahul, you already have two PG diploma courses under your belt- I am not able to understand your quest to add another degree to your credentials. I think it is important for you to detail out your career aspirations and then chart out a path to get there. If it emerges that you need a regular MBA to meet your aspirations, then you should consider signing up for one.
