Most of the times the “Chalta Hai” attitude makes the society tolerant towards corruption and corrupt practices of the powerful and mighty. A poor man doesn't get his share of food grains and sugar from Public Distribution System (PDS) as it goes to the open market. A poor cannot have him or his family treated in a government hospital due to corruption in maintenance of various departments .Medicines meant for the hospital find their way to open market. Police do not lodge an FIR of a poor and helpless person and even if lodged-no action is taken. It is the display of power and pelf in the society that is increasing the corruption and making everyday life miserable and thereby insecure.

With the result of recently held Assembly elections across four states and the emergence of Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi to power with a promise to root out corruption has come as an alarm bell for other political parties which have been in the power for the last 66 years since independence. This success of the Common Men party has come as a ray of hope for the people who have been feeling the heat of corruption at various levels of the system. There is no doubt that corruption is the root cause of various types of woes in India but having a will to fight with honest intentions, it can be fought. Fighting corruption may be difficult for the country but it is certainly not impossible.
