The students of IIMA have taken the decision to change the nature of selection for candidates for their event 'A Day IIMA'.

The students of IIMA have taken the decision to change the nature of selection for candidates for their event ‘A Day IIMA’, which is being conducted on the 8th of October as part of the ‘Joy of Giving Week’.

On 26 September 2011, IIMA had announced that it will allocating the seats for Day@IIMA based on auction, where student community had to bid. MBAUniverse.com had published that news.

With the change now, the interested candidates will now no longer be chosen on the basis of an auction. They can instead fill a form on http://www.iima-jgw.co.cc/ or email the students [email protected].

The deadline for filling the form is 11:59pm on the 2nd October, 2011. 50 candidates will be selected from the entries received on the basis of a draw of lots.

The method of selection for this event has been changed as the student organizers got calls from several interested candidates stating that though the bids were moving beyond their range, they were extremely interested and excited about spending a day on campus.

“The response from people has been overwhelming. It is wonderful to see so many people willing to contribute to a good cause and wanting to spend a day on campus. We have made the decision to remove the bidding process as we want to put all sincerely interested candidates on an equal footing. Donations to Prayaas can then be made on a voluntary basis on the 8th itself. The programme for the actual day will remain exactly the same as before. We are greatly looking forward to spending a day with these ‘students’,” said Divya Suresh, student Media Secretary.

The faculty of IIMA will also experience the ‘Joy of Giving’ by interacting with these candidates in the typical classroom environment of IIMA.

The 15 individuals whose seats have been confirmed through the earlier process are also being invited to spend this day without any obligation to contribute the amount of their bids. They are free to donate any amount they like to the Prayaas cause.
