DTE CAP 2020 MBA/MMS admission 2020 process has started on December 8, 2020. Last date to revister is extended to December 20, 2020. Many changes have been introduced in the registration and document verification process in MAH MBA/MMS CAP 2020.

 

In its notification released on December 7, 2020, CET Cell Maharashtra has clarified that the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2020 for MBA/MMS admission 2020 starts online on December 8. The last date to register online is now extended to December 20 from earlier December 13, 2020.

On December 13, CET Cell has issued a notice regarding acceptance of more exam scores for MBA admission 2020 in Maharashtra colleges and as such the last date for Non-CAP seats is extended to January 14, 2021 and the extended last date for CAP seats remains December 20, 2020.

More Exams Accepted this year for MBA Admission 2020
CET Cell had earlier announced to accept MAH-CET 2020 exam score for MBA/MMS admission 2020 for Maharashtra State (MS) category candidates.

 

The Acceptable exam scores for All India category candidates, as announced by CET Cell were CAT 2019, CMAT 2020 and Maha-MBA-CET 2020. However, on December 13, 2020, the CET Cell has released Important Notice regarding admission to MBA Academic year 2020-21, “ With reference to Judgement of THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY CIVIL APPELLATE JURISDICTION WRIT PETITION (St) No.96887 OF 2020 on dated 11/12/2020, Process for MBA application will resume back later by adding ATMA, MAT, XAT for admission process year 20-21 , after getting permission from Maharashtra Government. Accordingly Seperate notification will be publish on CET website.”

 

A detailed notification will be released shortly by CET Cell, Maharashtra, after including ATMA, MAT and XAT exam scores in MBA/MMS admission process 2020 

 

The announcement has brought great relief to the MBA aspirants who have been waiting for the admission process to start. After a long wait, the MBA admission in JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA and other more than 330 MBA colleges in Maharashtra has started now. However, JBIMS has not announced the admission process on its website.

While the admission to JBIMS for Maharashtra State category candidates is based on MAH-CET 2020 score, there are multiple exams through which All India category candidates can apply for JBIMS Admission 2020 on its 18 seats:

No Response from CET Cell or JBIMS Mumbai so far…
The name of JBIMS Mumbai is not included among the Scrutiny Centers (SC) for MBA/MMS admission 2020-2021 in the list released by CET Cell. JBIMS has also not yet announced its admission policy for MBA/MMS Admission 2020 on its website. The website remained suspended for many days with the message ‘Site can’t be reached’/ ‘Account Suspended’.

 

On December 9 and 11, MBAUniverse.com sent the mail to Dr Kavita Laghate, Director, JBIMS but it could not be delivered. The mail was also sent to Mr. Pankaj Kumar (IAS), Commissioner CET Cell Maharashtra as well as to Mr Udai Samant, Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra with a copy to Chief Minister of Maharashtra,Mr Udhav Thakrey but the response is not yet received. Read More

 

Will JBIMS Mumbai Not Participate in CAP 2020? JBIMS is Not Included among the MBA/MMS CAP 2020 Institutes
JBIMS Mumbai admission process 2020 is not announced by CET Cell. The name of JBIMS Mumbai is also not included among the Scrutiny Centers (SC) for MBA/MMS admission 2020-2021 in the list released by CET Cell. JBIMS has also not yet announced its admission policy till date for MBA/MMS Admission 2020 and the website has remained suspended for last many days with the message ‘Site can’t be reached’.

Key Changes Introduced in DTE CAP Process 2020
Considering the COVID-19 outbreak and present pandemic situation, CET Cell has taken following steps to avoid the crowding of parents and students for document verification.

  • No Additional CAP registration fee for the candidates who had applied and paid fee for MAH-CET 2020
  • CAP MBA/MMS 2020 Registration Fee reduced to Rs.1000/Rs.800 from earlier Rs.2000/Rs.1600 for the CAT 2019/CMAT 2020 applicants who had not registered for MAH-CET 2020
  • E-Scrutiny of the documents verification is introduced
  • JBIMS is not included in the list of CAP participating institutes
  • Form Filling Process is Online and application form confirmation is made online.
  • Candidates need not have to visit personally for verification and confirmation of the application form, the application & documents shall be verified and confirmed by the designated E-Scrutiny Center through online mode only  

MAH State Candidates who have appeared in MAH CET 2020 on March 14 & 15, 2020 and All India category candidates who have appeared in other national level MBA entrance tests like CAT 2019, CMAT 2020 and other exams can register for MBA/MMS Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2020.

DTE CAP 2020 Registration & Application Fee

  • No Fee Candidates: The Candidates who have registered for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2020 are not required to pay any fees for registration for admission.
  • Fee Paying Candidates: Other candidates who have obtained score which is valid for admission in academic year 2020-21 in CAT/GMAT/CMAT and have not registered for MAH-MBA/ MMS-CET 2020 are required to pay CAP Registration fees
  • Mode of CAP Fee Payment: CAP 2020 registration fee must be paid only by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking through Online mode
  • Fee Not Refundable: DTE CAP Fees once paid is non-refundable

DTE Maharashtra CAP: First Two Steps 

  • To start DTE CAP 2020 process for MBA/MMS admission 2020, the CET Cell of Directorate of Technical Education  Maharashtra has announced a list of 240 'E-Scrutiny Centres’ (SCs) where document verification process after online registration and uploading of documents is conducted.
  • The second step is DTE CAP 2020 online registration process followed by Scrutity of documents online. After scrutiny the SC, will confirm the acceptance.

What is CAP?

CAP is the Centralized Admission Process for MBA admission in Maharashtra B-schools. It is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra. DTE CAP 2020 process has started with fresh registration after MAH CET result is declared. The process is followed by document verification after which merit list is announced. Candidates seeking admission in MBA/MMS 2020-22 courses in SIMSREE, PUMBA, K J Somaiya, Welingkar, N L Dalmiya, DSIMS and other Maharashtra MBA colleges need to register and apply for Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2020 by making the payment of prescribed application and participation fee.

The highest percentile score awarded in MAH CET 2020 was 99.99 percentile. No candidate scored 100 percentile. The cut offs in DTE CAP 2020 final selection and allotment of top MBA college, are expected to remain low as compared to last year.

 

How to Get Ready for DTE CAP 2020 for MBA/MMS Admission: Important instructions

  • Gather all your scanned documents including Marks sheets, certificates from class X to Graduation, MBA entrance exam score card, Identification document, photograph, signature, online fee payment instruments. Keep them ready
  • Register and submit documents online, pay fee
  • Check online the list of the institutes identified as E-scrutiny Centers which is available on the website.
  • Once the candidate confirms his/her Option form online through his/her Login for the respective admission rounds, Candidate will not be allowed to change/cancel the option/preference submitted under any circumstances.
  • A Candidate who has been allotted a seat shall download the “Provisional Seat Allotment Letter”
  • The candidate has to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee during first reporting only. This fee shall be transferred to the institution after deducting Rs. 1,000/- towards processing fee.
  • The Seat Acceptance fees is to be paid through ONLINE MODE only.
  • Allotted Seat will be cancelled if, at any time, any of the documents or certificates is found to be invalid or fraudulent and/or the Candidate does not meet the eligibility norms.
  • Candidates who want to reject the allocated seat can do so by not remitting the seat acceptance fee at the Reporting Centre in scheduled period

DTE CAP 2020: 10 Stages From Application to Selection 

  • Step-1: Candidate Registration: Started on December 8 and the last date is December 13, 2020
  • Step-2: Filling Online Application Form by Candidate for participation in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2020
  • Step-3: Confirmation of Online Application Form and Document Verification and counselling on line by E-scrutiny center
  • Step-4: Display or publishing of Provisional merit lists, Submission of grievances, if any, and Display or publishing of Final Merit Lists
  • Step-5: Display of available Category wise Seats (Seat Matrix) for CAP Rounds I, II and III.
  • Step-6: Filling up and Confirmation of Online Option Form having preferences of Courses and Institutions before CAP Round I. Candidates may fill in choices of Institutes and Courses in decreasing order of their preference as specified by Competent Authority. The option form once confirmed shall be considered for allotment in CAP Round I, II, and III.
  • Step-7: Display of Provisional Allotment of CAP Round I, II, and III indicating allotted institute and Course. This allotment of seats will be based on your scores in MAH CET; CAT; GMAT, CMAT exams, Academics & other parameters leading to merit score in CAP round. 
  • Step-8: Reporting and accepting the offered seat as per the allotment of the CAP Round I, II, and III by the Candidate  
  • Step-9: DTE has set up 240 Scrutiny Centers in different MBA colleges of Maharashtra for DTE CAP 2020 for admission to MBA/MMS 2020
  • Step-10: Surrendering the seat to participate in next CAP round to get a better MBA college

The First point to participate in DTE CAP process is to register online. After completing the CAP application form with all the details, taking print of it and submitting it, the Sc will confirm online(as per the instructions) the CAP round participation on the assigned date. The CET Cell of Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra has set up 240 E-Scrutiny centrers where document verification process after online registration is scheduled.

 

Eligibility for DTE-CAP 2020
Before registering and applying for DTE CAP 2020 for MBA/MMS admission please note the following eligibility conditions for DTE CAP 2020 and the available opportunity in the process:

  • All Maharashtra State (MS) category candidates who wish to participate in MBA/MMS CAP round must have appeared in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2020 and should have obtained non zero score in CET
  • All India and J&K Migrant category candidates are eligible for DTE CAP 2020 round provided they have obtained non zero positive score in one of the following  examinations namely, MAH-MBA CET 2020/CAT 2019/CMAT 2020

CAP 2020 to have 4 admission rounds 
CAP 2020 will be conducted in 4 rounds. The process will consist of Online Application submission; Option form submission, document verification, counselling alongwith brief PI, generation of merit list and allotment of MBA seat. Final allotment of seats will be based on your scores in MAH CET; CAT; CMAT exams, academics & other parameters leading to merit score in CAP round.

 

Types of MBA seats available for admission through DTE-CAP 2020

  • Maharashtra State Candidature Seats: The Candidates having Maharashtra State Candidature shall be eligible for these seats
  • All India Candidature Seats: The Candidates having All India Candidature shall be eligible for these seats.
  • Minority Quota Seats: The Candidates having Minority Candidature shall be eligible for these seats. These seats shall be filled in accordance with the various provisions of the Act.
  • Institutional Quota Seats: The Institution can admit Eligible Candidates against 20% of the Sanctioned Intake. The maximum 5% seats may be filled in from the NRI Candidates, if it is approved by the Appropriate Authority at the Institution level.

MAH CET Final Merit List
After completion of the MAH CET 2020 CAP round document verification process, DTE Maharashtra displays the provisional Merit List MBA 2020 admission. The display of final Merit List MBA 2020 is scheduled after submission of grievances.

 

DTE CAP Cut offs
DTE CAP cut offs for All India category candidates and MAH State candidates are separately announced by DTE Maharashtra. It may be noted that many All India Category candidates are allotted JBIMS, SIMSREE colleges in the additional CAP round.

 

DTE CAP 2020: Step by Step SC Activity
The three stage Registration to participate in DTE CAP 2020 has started on December 8 for MBA Admission in SIMSREE, K J Somaiya, N L Dalmiya, PUMBA, Dy Patil and more than 300 MBA colleges in Maharashtra depending upon your entrance exam score, academics, achievements, work experience among others.

Stage-1: Application Stage
While the DTE Maharashtra has assigned the Activity -1 role to SCs, it has made clear that none of the SCs would charge any amount for these services.

  1. Submission of Online Application Form
  2. Scanning and Uploading of Required Documents
  3. Confirmation of Submitted Application Form

Stage-2: Document Verification, Confirmation of Application Form

  • Document verification as per the list of documents on the Application form
  • Scanning & uploading of documents.
  • Candidates will not go to SC. The process will be completed online
  • Upload a set of documents.
  • SC shall verify all documents and will confirm the application form submission
  • Handling of Grievances received from the Candidates (As per the notified schedule)

Stage-3: Submission of Online Option form for CAP Round I, II, III and Others, if any

  • Facilitate the candidate for Submission of Online Option Form.
  • Printing of Submitted Option Form

The State CET Cell of Maharashtra will also release the available seat matrix for CAP rounds for admission to MBA/MMS 2020-22 batch in various colleges affiliated to Mumbai, Pune, and other Universities in Maharashtra. The candidates will have to submit the Option Form of CAP Round online through candidate’s Login by himself/herself through the admission portal.  

 

All India candidates: Admissions available against CAP Vacancies
Since not all the MBA admissions in Maharashtra B-schools are finalised through CAP round, there are still many vacant seats in MBA colleges. DTE Maharashtra clarifies ‘The seats remaining vacant after offering admissions to the candidates through CAP due to non reporting and cancellation after CAP Round-III will be filled in by the managements of the respective institutes. Admission authorities of the respective institutes will have to process these admissions strictly as per the guidelines given in Annexure -III.
