IPM 2020-25 selection process
After the IPM AT 2020 result is announced in 2nd week of May 2020, the successful test takers will be called for WAT and PI round by IIM Indore. The candidates for IPM 2020-25 Batch will be selected on the basis of overall performance in IPM Aptitude Test (IPM AT) - 2020, Written Ability Test (WAT) & Personal Interview (PI). Any candidate who fails to appear either in AT, WAT or PI shall not be considered for selection.

IPM Selection 2020: Step by Step Process


Step-1: Application & Exam
The phase-1 of IPM selection process consists of application submission and appearing in IPM AT exam.

  • Eligible candidates should submit their application online till March 30, 2020
  • Candidates satisfying minimum eligibility criteria should attend the online IPM Aptitude Test (AT) 2020 to be conducted across 34 cities in the country. Check IPM AT 2020 Exam Centers 
  • The date of IPM AT 2020 is April 30, 2020.
  • IPM AT 2020 exam pattern consists of three sections namely Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA) and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ). The Quantitative Ability section has been split into two parts.
  • Each question will carry +4 marks for correct answer.
  • There will be a negative marking of -1 negative mark for each wrong answer except Quantitative Ability (SA) Section (these questions will not carry any negative marking).
  • IPM Aptitude Test 2020 will be structured as under:

  • Sections are to be attempted in a pre-specified order and this order will remain same for all the candidates.
  • The individual time limit for the section should be adhered to.

STEP-2: Shortlisting
The phase-2 of IPM selection process is the shortlisting for final selection round:

  • Only the candidates having positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three sections of Aptitude Test will be shortlisted for Written Ability Test (WAT) & Personal Interview (PI).
  • Sufficient number of candidates will be shortlisted for WAT & PI from the eligible pool  for each category (General, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD) using the merit list generated based on Aptitude Test Score (ATS)
  • The minimum cut off mark in each section will be decided by the Admissions Committee.
  • The minimum cut off mark for shortlisting in each section will be based on the categories of applicants.
  • Individual regret letters will not be sent to applicants who are not shortlisted for WAT & PI round.

Maximum and Minimum scores are the highest and lowest scores obtained in respective sections by the candidates from the eligible pool.


Step-3: Final Selection for IPM Admission

  • Shortlisted candidates shall appear for WAT & PI at any one of the eight centres i.e. Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata and Mumbai.
  • IIM Indore expects a consistent and minimum performance in the different parameters of Personal Interview (PI), which will be decided by Admissions Committee.
  • Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in any of PI parameters will not be considered for the next stage of selection process
  • Only those candidates satisfying the requirements mentioned in earlier stages will be considered for the final selection.
  • Category wise merit list will be generated based on Composite Score (CS)
  • Provisional admission offers will be made accordingly adhering to the Government of India reservation norms.

Merit list for admission will be generated on the basis of following weightage parameters based on the performance in undernoted areas:

No intimation will be sent to candidates who are not selected for final offer.


Award of Degree on Completion of IPM
The Indian Institutes of Management Act 2017 came into force from January 31, 2018. Students who are enrolled in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore's FiveYear Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) for 2020-25 Batch will be eligible for award of Bachelor of Arts (Foundations of Management) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees under Dual Degree Programme upon successful completion of IPM.


 IPM students who successfully completed the IPM programme in 2019 were conferred the above Degrees at the 20th Convocation of the Institute held on March 26, 2019
