Management education doyen Dr Shekhar Chaudhuri was the Director of IIM Calcutta for two consecutive terms. During his tenure at IIM Calcutta, the Institute went through a transformational change and became the first IIM to earn AACSB Accreditation. IIM Calcutta is India’s only B-school to be triple accredited by AACSB, EFMD and AMBA.

Dr Chaudhuri is a B. Tech (Hons) from IIT Kharagpur and Fellow in Management from IIM Ahmedabad. After a brief stint in the industry, in 1981, Chaudhuri moved into academics and joined his alma-mater IIM Ahmedabad. He worked at IIM-A till 2000. In November 2002, Dr Chaudhuri joined IIM Calcutta as the Director and served for two consecutive terms of five years from November 25, 2002 till April, 8 2013.

Dr Chaudhuri is currently the Director of Calcutta Business School.
