IIM-L professor's book focuses on e-commerce

Dr.Bharat Bhasker, Professor of Information Technology and Systems, at IIM Lucknow and K Srikumar have released a book on Internet technologies called "Recommender Systems in E-Commerce".

The proliferation of Internet technologies and e-commerce has made the webspace an exciting and interactive business platform for producers, marketers and consumers.

Internet technologies are the mainstay of today's world. To cater to the burgeoning technologies in the segment, Dr.Bharat Bhasker, Professor of Information Technology and Systems, at IIM Lucknow and K Srikumar have released a book on Internet technologies called "Recommender Systems in E-Commerce". Prof. Bharat Bhasker is a seasoned IT expert with extensive research and industry experience and K. Srikumar holds a doctoral degree in IT & Systems from IIM Lucknow. The book is published and distributed by Tata McGraw Hill.

"The proliferation of Internet technologies and e-commerce has made the webspace an exciting and interactive business platform for producers, marketers and consumers. Recommender Systems in e-Commerce deals with recommendation systems, process and techniques in detail," says Dr. Bhasker.

Enriched with illustrative diagrams and examples, the book covers: Processes, characteristics and classification of recommendation systems, Basic techniques used in recommendation systems: Collaborative Filtering, Data Mining, Information Retrieval/Content Filtering, Design, development and evaluation of recommendation system for low-involvement and high-involvement products and Applications of recommendation systems.

The book will be useful for professionals working in e-commerce industry, management students, faculty and researchers.
