Indian School of Business commenced their 1st Batch of Business Analytics Programme for executives at their Hyderabad and Mohali Campuses on September 14th 2013 with the financial support of Biocon Foundation.
ISB has introduced the ISB Biocon Certificate Programme in Business Analytics to help create professionals who can help their organisations derive value with the power of analytics.

Indian School of Business launches their Business Analytics Programme for executives at their Hyderabad and Mohali Campuses, in the month of September 2013 with the financial support of Biocon Foundation. The first batch of Business Analytics commenced on September 14, 2013 with one hundred and four students. This one year part-time executive programme will help to generate the data management scientists. The nature of the course is divided into two parts i.e. 66% of the classroom learning and 34% technology based learning.

Biocon Foundation works for Corporate Social Responsibility and is headed by Dr (Ms.) Kiran Mazumdar Shaw. The foundation joined hands with ISB to develop and nurture the peculiarity of this programme. During the span of the course, all the information will be delivered online but, there will be five day classroom schedule on campus in every alternate month.

Faculties from India and abroad will provide various projects to the students so that they can apply their learning at the time of their work in the organization. A special module in this programme will be based upon Business Analysis and Predictive modeling by SAS. This course is designed especially for those professionals who are working in this field or, have an urge to work in this domain. It provides the combination of theory and practical learning. An essence of this course and the final project is designed to integrate the real-world with Business disciplines.

Majority of the students in the first batch of Business Analytics are from the technical background. In addition, executives with 4-8 yrs of experience sought and got admission in this programme. Senior functionaries from Accenture, Merck, Dr Reddy Labs, Amazon, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Mckinsey, Microsoft, TCS, Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, Vodafone were also present on the launch of this course.

Mr. Deepak Chandra, Deputy Dean of ISB said, “There is an explosion in the data being generated in practically every sphere of business. With greater adoption of digital technologies, this is bound to grow exponentially. However, there is a dearth of available talent to help organizations make sense of this data deluge. Responding to this need, the ISB has introduced the ISB Biocon Certificate Programme in Business Analytics to help create professionals who can help their organisations derive value with the power of analytics. There are many other B-Schools including Great Lakes and IIM-Lucknow that have already been running Business Analytics Programme in their campus. Business Analytics focuses on new and innovative insights of business performance through relevant data. It is based on statistical methods and analysis for example: SPSS software is widely used for this purpose.

Indian School of Business is the first institute to receive AACSB accredition in South Asia. Biocon Foundation initiates CSR activities for rural and urban areas in different domains. This foundation received various awards and recognition in past few years.
