World renowned spiritual guru Swami Parthasarthy offered self-management advice to academicians and industry leaders at the closing session of Day 1 at 20th AIMS Annual Management Education Convention on August 27.

Said Swami Parthasarthy, "Executive and managers need to develop and use 'intellect', rather than merely rely on application of 'mind' when solving everyday business and personal issues. Intellect if the faculty reasoning everything, asking questions, and not accepting the status quo."

Giving his three mantra for success in corporate and personal life, Swami Parthasarthi said, "Concentration, Consistency, and Cooperation are three pillars of lasting success. Executives aren't focused on a clear purpose, and hence a lot of their energy is wasted."

Dwelling on the development of intellect, Swami Parthasarthi said, "Only human beings have the faculty of choosing their responses. Plants and animals don't choose action, they merely react. So I urge students and executives to think about what is driving them, what is their goal and purpose. Once you have found the purpose of your life, every thing else will follow."

The philosopher Swami Parthasarathy, popularly known as 'Swamiji', is widely acclaimed as one of the greatest living exponent of Vedanta, the ancient philosophy of life and living. He has multiple degrees in literature, science and law, and completed a postgraduation in international law from London University. He renounced a lucrative corporate career early in life to dedicate himself to study and research of Vedanta.

He has addressed premier management schools like Harvard, Kellogg, and MIT; and also addressed top management of corporations like Goldman Sachs and McKinsey.
