The event will showcase the best of India's entrepreneurs. The event recognizes IIM-L and Abhiyan's spirit of promoting entrepreneurship not just across B-schools. The event is organized annually with MANFEST, the annual business conclave of IIM Lucknow. Organized on the theme 'Clean Goes Green', Nirvaan 09 would shift its global technology towards clean technology.
Some of the eminent speakers and judges who would be participating include Yashish Dahiya, CEO and Avaneesh Nirjar, Chief Operating Officer, PolicyBazaar; Rahul Patwardhan, VC and MD, IndiaCo; Arun Chandrachud, President –Advisory Group, IndiaCo; Sarbvir Singh, Managing Director, Capital18; Krishna Kumar, Group Editor, DARE; Gaurav Saraf, Director, Epiphany Ventures; Ashutosh Pandey, Head- Carbon Advisory Business, Emergent Ventures; Vinaya Bansal, Head - CDM Business Development, Emergent Ventures, etc.
The Start-up Showcase event is expected to receive more than 30 entrepreneurs presenting their business plans. All finalists of the Start-up Showcase event will qualify to participate in Start-up Exhibition. Exhibition will provide start-ups an in-campus promotion stall, an opportunity for start-ups to market their product and services among thousands of participants from various engineering and B-schools all over India.
The event would be conducted in two stages: The first being Submission of Executive Summary and Team Registration wherein the teams would provide vital information about their firm such as the name, date of establishment, market size, business strategy, milestones achieved, etc.
And the second would be the presentations round. Eight teams would be short-listed for the final presentation. The teams would get an opportunity to interact with the venture capitalists and other successful entrepreneurs.
The last date of submission of entries was December 30. The results will be declared and mentorship program will start on January 5, 2009. Final B-plan presentations will be made during Manfest on January 18, 2009 at IIM-L campus.
Some of the benefits and accolades, the winners would be getting include: chances of funding up to INR 5 Crore given by team of VC Partners; incubation facility with initial sponsorship by Incubation Partners from IIM A, IIT K, IIT B, JSS Noida and Amity Noida; entry to the business mentorship program; nomination for Start-up Exhibition and One year free subscription of DARE magazine to all finalists.
