Road to NMAT 2011 opens Guide to successful Registration

Continuing with our endeavour to guide CAT aspirants with credible and first hand information we bring to you today the exclusive interview with CAT 2010 Convener Prof. Himanshu Rai.

The registration for NMAT 2011 has started from Wednesday, September 8, 2010. To register for NMAT 2011, you need to first visit the NMIMS website (http://www.pearsonvueindia.com/nmat/how_to_apply.html) to get the registration guidelines. NMAT 2011 which will be held from Friday, October 1, 2010 to Friday, December 31, 2010 can be attempted thrice. The application fee for the test is Rs. 1650. The candidates who register late will have to pay Rs. 2150.

Important Dates for NMAT 2011 registration

The last date for registration is Friday, October 15, 2010. The late registration will be held from Saturday, October 16, 2010 to Sunday, October 31, 2010. You can schedule your test from Tuesday, September 21, 2010 to Friday, November 5, 2010. You can reschedule the test from September 21 to Tuesday, December 28, 2010. To dates to schedule the retake are from Friday, October 1, 2010 to Thursday, December 30, 2010.
Steps for Registration to NMAT 2011

Step 1: New User Registration: The first step is to click on the New User Registration button mentioned on the webpage.
Step 2: Terms and Conditions: The next step is to read all the terms and conditions and click on the I Agree button to continue further.

Step 3: Fill up the form: You will have to fill up the form for the registration. You will have to provide your personal, educational and work experience details. The fields which are marked with asterisk (*) are mandatory. If you need any clarification or guideline on filling up the form, you can click on ‘How to Fill the Form’ on top of the page. After you fill up the form, you have to click on the ‘Save and Continue’ button to continue with the registration process.

Step 4: Registration & NMAT 2011 ID: After you choose the password and answer the hint question, you have to click on the ‘Submit’ button and that ends your registration process. The next screen will display your unique NMAT 2011 ID.

Step 5: Payment: After the successful registration, you can make the payment at that moment or come back later. If you wish to make the payment at that stage, then click on the link which says ‘Click here to make payment’. You will be given the payment options which you can avail.
If you wish to make the payment at the later stage then you need to login with your NMAT ID and password and then click on the ‘Make Payment’ button.

Step 6: Email: After you successfully complete your registration, you will receive an email stating your NMAT ID and NMAT password. This ID and password shall be used by you for further correspondence with NMIMS.

Step 7: Scheduling: After you receive your unique NMAT ID and password through email, your have to logon to the Pearson VUE website (www.pearsonvue.com/nmims ) and schedule your test on your preferred date and location.
Test Centers

NMAT 2011 will be held in 18 cities across India. These cities are:
North: Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur and Lucknow
West: Ahmedabad and Mumbai
South: Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin and Hyderabad
Central: Allahabad, Bhopal, Indore and Raipur
East: Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata and Patna.

Scheduling

After you have successfully registered for NMAT 2011, you can enable your NMAT username and password to select the date, time and test site on the basis of the availability of seats. The test will then be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. The earlier you register online, the better their chances of taking the test at the location, date and time of your preference. Following that, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you containing the location, date and time of the test that you have successfully scheduled for.
You can re-schedule your test 72 hours or more prior to your scheduled appointment, subject to availability of seats, upon payment of an additional fee of Rs. 800. The re-schedule window will remain open during the entire exam delivery window from Tuesday, September 21, 2010 to Tuesday, December 28, 2010.

If you decide to retake the NMAT 2011 in order to try to improve your scores, you have to schedule it after 15 days or later than the date of your previous attempt. The fee for scheduling a retake is Rs. 1650.
