How should business schools address the challenges of the post-crisis world? Since some of the more profound effects of the global financial crisis are still being felt, how can an emphasis on adjustment and change help promote business school education?

That is the focus of the 3rd International Business School Shanghai Conference, hosted by the Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – that is taking place at the Antai College campus in Shanghai, China from 17 - 19 October 2010.

At the conference, business leaders and representatives from over 75 business schools from around the world are studying the future direction of international business education, and analyzing how business education can contribute in more better ways to world economic development.

Highlighting the need for change, speaking at the inaugural ceremony today (Monday, October 18, 2010), Dr Blair Sheppard, Dean, Fuqua Business School, Duke University, USA, said, “MBA education, as we know it, is broke! It was developed decades back, when world was a different place. Now we urgently need a new model.”

Dr Turpin said, “The world MBA and executive MBA market is getting tougher. There is more competition from all over the world, from institutes like ISB Hyderabad. Dr Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH, Greater Noida is also attending the conference.
