Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida, organized the HR Summit 2011 on Saturday, January 22, 2011. The summit focused on HR outsourcing, its challenges and opportunities. The event was launched by the top level personalities of the Indian industry and the academia.

The theme for this year was HR Outsourcing. The program commenced with lighting of the lamp by Mr. S. Varadarajan, EVP & Chief HR Officer, Quattro BPO; Dr. S P Sahni, VP Education, Jindal Power & Steels; Dr. Anup Kumar Singh, Director, JIM Noida and Dr. JD Singh, Director General, JIM.

The summit provided a one to one interactive platform to MBA students who shared their doubts and fears with renowned industry leaders. The esteemed industry leaders shared their thoughts and experiences with the keen management students.

The keynote speakers for the inaugural session were Mr. S. Varadarajan, EVP & Chief HR Officer, Quattro BPO; Dr. S P Sahni, VP Education, Jindal Power & Steels; Mr. Saurabh Saxena, AGM HR, Network18; Mr. Vaibhav Sondhi, AVP HR, DLF Pramerica; Mr. RP Singh, Director HR, IFFCO; Mr. Piyush Dutt, Head HR, HCL Comnet; Mr. Amit Sinha, Head Recruitments, Bharti Airtel; Mr. Rajan Johri, CEO, LifeWork Global; Mr. Atul Pandey, Head ER & Sales & Distribution, Cargill India; Mr. S. C. Kulshreshta, Ex Corporate Head, Personnel & Admin., KRIBHCO; Mr. Asim Talukdar, Senior VP, NIIT.
Dr. JD Singh, DG of Jaipuria Institute of Management, in his speech emphasized on the relevance of data privacy and security during the practice of HRO.

Dr. Anup Kumar Singh, Director, JIM Noida, enlightened the students on the value of HR as a core function which is highly dynamic. He portrayed the change of HR from its initial stages of admin service, personal management, human resource management to present strategic focused HR.

Mr. S. Varadarajan portrayed a vivid picture of outsourcing by deliberating upon multiple corporate examples. He focused upon the transition of HR function from its operating role to strategic role. He emphasized upon various aspects of outsourcing like its drivers, what functions to outsource, factors for success and tips for implementing HRO.

Dr. S P Sahni presented contrasting view as a HR Person. He was against outsourcing in manufacturing industry and would believe in a very selective use of HRO. He elaborated upon the suitability of outsourcing on the basis of industry specific requirements. He elaborated upon selecting out the right talents that align with the culture of the company who can demonstrate good communication, technical and analytical skills. He encouraged students to manifest their employability during the summer internship to the prospective employers and thus ensure placement.
