Placements, the most eagerly awaited event on the campus, reinforced the brand equity of MDI. The difficult last two years were left behind and it was back to full business.
Students got offers not only from their dream companies but more importantly in preferred profiles. The two years of preparation for the corporate world, of some of the most talented minds, selected through arguably the toughest examination for managerial aptitude, and rigorously exposed to the best in management education and industry practice in India proved its worth on the day it mattered. It was time for people to dream, to aspire, to realize and to rejoice.
The list of recruiters, in continuation of the trend in the last few years, burgeoned both in terms of number and their diversity.

 

The numbers speak for themselves – more than 100 companies evinced interest in recruiting from the 235 students who had enrolled for the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM), 60 students enrolled in the Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HR) and 21 students enrolled in the Post Graduate Programme in International Management (PGP-IM).

Of these, 51 were placed in the lateral placement process and 41 accepted the Pre-placement offer extended to them. In keeping with the recent trend where management students have taken the entrepreneurial route, 11 students opted out to pursue their ambition of being wealth creators for the nation. 208 students were placed in the Week Zero.
The pay packages received are on a scale that has the students euphoric.

The highest domestic salary for PGPM this year is a whopping INR 21 lakh, as compared to Rs 18.53 lakh last year. The average salary is INR 13.50 lakh and the median salary is INR 12.04 lakh. For PGHR, the highest domestic salary is INR 20.15 lakh. The average salary for PGHR is INR 13.42 lakh and the median is INR 11.50 lakh.

For PGIM, the batch was placed very successfully with the average salary of INR 12.94 lakh and the median of INR 11.03 lakh. The highest domestic salary for the PGPIM is INR 15.60 lakh.

The PGPM recruiters included Accenture, Asian Paints, American Express, Axis Bank, Bharti, Biocon, Castrol, Citigroup, Coca Cola, Cognizant, Dabur, Deloitte, Godrej, Goldman Sachs, HP, HSBC, ICICI, ITC, J P Morgan Chase, Mahindra & Mahindra, Nomura, Proctor & Gamble, Pepsi, Phillips, Ranbaxy, Raymonds, RBI, Religare, SBI Capital, Standard Chartered Bank, Videocon and Yes Bank among others.

Major recruiters for HR profiles were Ernst & Young, Hewitt Associates, Mercer Consulting, Bharti, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Sons, Tata Steel, ICICI, ITC, Franklin Templeton, Pepsi, RPG and Schneider.

The PGPIM recruiters included Deloitte, Biocon, Aspiring Minds, Avalon Consulting, RPG, etc. Profiles up for grabs were Finance, Consulting, IT, Sales and Marketing, General Management and Operations.
