The PGPM Class of 2011 comprised 296 students from diverse backgrounds and work experience ranging from 20 months to 81 months. This year, 121 leading companies participated in the placements, an increase of 59% over last year as companies chose Great Lakes students for a variety of roles including Senior Management positions.

Overall, the salaries offered to the Class of 2010 increased by 11% over last year. The average salary of the PGPM class was Rs. 9.45 lakhs per annum while the median salary was Rs. 9.2 lakhs per annum. The highest salary was Rs. 24 lakhs p.a. offered by a US management consulting firm. Further, the average salary was 133% of the average incoming salary (i.e. the last drawn salary of the batch before joining the institute).

The highest number of offers was made by companies from Consulting, Technology and Sales & Marketing. Healthcare, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Media, Travel, Education and Energy were some of the other sectors chosen by the Class of 2011.

The leading recruiters were as follows:

Sales & Marketing: Some of the major recruiters were Godrej Consumer , Symrise (FMCG), Mahindra Holidays (Travel and Tourism), Yes Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank (BFSI), Edserv, Everonn, Global Scholar, Manipal Education (Education) and Puma (Retail) and HIRCO (Infrastructure).52 students got jobs in Sales & Marketing with the highest salary offered being Rs. 16 lakhs p.a.

Consulting: The major recruiters were ZS Associates, Deloitte, PWC, Ernst and Young, Cognizant Business Consulting, Universal Consulting and Accenture.78 students got jobs in consulting roles with the highest salary offered being Rs. 24 lakhs p.a.

Technology: IT majors such as Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, Mindtree, Mahindra Satyam visited campus this year. The highest salary offered was 14 lakhs.

Operations: Companies such as L&T – Engineering, Robert Bosch, Tecpro Systems, Zuari Group and TVS Motors were among the many recruiters here for Operations and Product Management roles. Yes Bank also recruited for Operations role in BFSI. The highest salary offered was Rs. 12.5 lakhs p.a.

Finance: Some of the major recruiters for the finance students of Great Lakes were UBS , Wealth Advisors India, Vista Soft, Spark Capital, Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank. Roles varied across Wealth Management, Fixed Income Securities, Securities Trading, Corporate Banking, Equity Research and Institutional Investments. The highest salary offered was Rs. 12 lakhs p.a.

General Management and Business Analytics: IBM Analytics, IMRB, RAMCO Systems were some of the major companies that recruited students for Analytics and Business Research roles. Other general management roles were offered by companies such as Hospira Healthcare, SunEdison. The highest salary offered in general management roles was Rs. 10.7 lakhs p.a.
