Very soon, noted scientist and former President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, is likely to teach aspiring managers at Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi.

Confirming the news to MBAUniverse.com, FMS Dean, Prof J K Mitra said, “Dr Kalam has accepted our invitation in principle to join us as honorary adjunct professors which mean he will join us as a full-time professor.  His joining will take some time as we are working on the modalities.” However, Prof Mitra refused to divulge further details, saying more specifics would be forthcoming by the end of November.

This is not the first time that Dr Kalam is going to play the role of a teacher. In the past, he has been visiting professor at several institutes across the country -- like the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad and Gobind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. In his message on his own website, he says, "I will organize and conduct my life in such a way that my life itself is a message for the students - A Teacher".

An aerospace scientist, Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was also popularly known as the People's President. He was the twelfth President of India serving from 2002 to 2007. Kalam has received honorary doctorates from as many as 30 universities. He has written several inspirational books, most notably his autobiography ‘Wings of Fire’, aimed at motivating Indian youth.

Established in 1954, as a department of the Delhi School of Economics, FMS started off with a part-time program in management. In 1967, FMS started its flagship MBA program (full-time). Since its inception, FMS has contributed over 9,000 business leaders, industry captains, government officials and academics.
