CAT 2013 Day 6 first session is over. Quantitative section was very calculation intensive and time consuming while verbal was moderate in difficulty level. This article brings you the analysis of the first session of CAT day 6.
DI was very difficult and consumed a lot of my time. All the 3 sets on bar, table and percentages were difficult to solve. I managed to attempt only 14 questions in total

Today was the sixth day of CAT 2013 exam. The first session for Day 6, on October 23 got over this afternoon at 1.00 PM. MBAUniverse.com editorial team was present on many centers in New Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida and spoke to students for their first reaction and feedback. According to the students, Quantitative section was very calculation intensive and time consuming while verbal was moderate in difficulty level.

Siddhartha, test taker at a Noida test centre shared his experience and said, “DI was very difficult and consumed a lot of my time. All the 3 sets on bar, table and percentages were difficult to solve. I managed to attempt only 14 questions in total.”

One of the test takers from Delhi, Abhinav Kumar said, “Quant section was difficult but I managed to do 15 correct questions but Logical Reasoning gave me headaches as it was very tricky for me.”

Another test taker from Greater Noida, Anoop Chowrasia, shared his CAT 2013 test experience and said, “Verbal was very easy however passages were lengthy covering topics like feminism, illness and fascism. Questions were direct though. DI was tricky and time taking for me,”

CAT 2013 Day 6 First Session Sectional Analysis: 

Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation: Calculation intensive and Time consuming

Geometry and Algebra had the maximum questions in the Quantitative section. Rest of the questions was from the other known topics such as Arithmetic, Trigonometry, Functions, Mensuration, Time Speed & Distance etc. Number System and Permutation & Combination were missing from many students question set.

Data Interpretation was termed as tricky and difficult by many students. Questions were based on bar diagram, Percentages and Pie Charts.

Verbal Ability: Moderate in difficulty level

The first session of Day 6 covered each topic in Verbal Ability including Reading Comprehension, Para Jumble, Vocabulary, Error correction in paragraph, identifying the Out of Context sentences, fill in the blanks. Fill in the blanks was very easy while vocabulary which consists of word usage was a bit difficult.

RC Passages were long while questions were direct.  According to students who gave their CAT 2013 exam today in the first session, although there were no poems but the overall length of the passages was long and it took time to understand it. There were total 10 questions in RC section.

Logical Reasoning: Tricky
The Logical Reasoning questions were tricky and had questions ranging from circular arrangements, blood relations and Logical Sequence. There was no Venn diagram in the first session of the day 6 of CAT 2013 exam.
