CAT 2013 Day seven first session is over. Quantitative section was easy but very time consuming while verbal section was average in difficulty level. This article brings you the analysis of the first session of CAT day seven.
Quant was not difficult but very time consuming, even LR was a bit lengthy and took a lot of time to solve. Verbal was easy for me except the RC passages which I thought was a bit lengthy

Today was day seven of CAT 2013 exam. The first session for Day 7 on Thursday, October 24, 2013 got over this afternoon at 1.00 PM. MBAUniverse.com editorial team was present on many centers in New Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and spoke to students for their first reaction and feedback. Today for a change, CAT 2013 paper was not as difficult in comparison to last 6 days. According to the students, Quantitative section was easy but very time consuming while verbal section was average in difficulty level.

Himani, a test taker from Noida test centre said, “Quant was not difficult but very time consuming, even LR was a bit lengthy and took a lot of time to solve. Verbal was easy for me except the RC passages which I thought was a bit lengthy.”

Kanishk from New Delhi shared his CAT 2013 feedback and said, “My paper was unexpectedly easy in difficulty level but yes it was a bit time taking. DI was easy but RC was lengthy.”

 

CAT 2013 Day seven first Session Sectional Analysis:

Quantitative Ability: Easy but Time consuming

Quantitative Ability area had maximum questions from geometry and functions. Number system was missing in several candidates question set. Rests of the questions were from the other known topics such as P&C, algebra, Mensuration, Time & Speed & Distance etc. Most of the questions were time consuming and needed a lot of calculations.

Data Interpretation:  Easy in difficulty level

DI questions were termed as easy by many candidates. DI questions were mainly based on tables, bar graph and pie charts. There was no Venn diagram in the today CAT 2013 paper.

Verbal Ability: Easy but RC was lengthy
Verbal Ability was termed as easy and average in difficulty level by many aspirants of first session on Day seven. Every other topic like vocabulary, out of context, sentence correction, parajumbles, vocabulary, etc had equal representations in the question set. Fill in the blanks though was missing from few students question set from CAT 2013 day 7 first session.

In RC there were total of 9 questions for 3 passages. Passages were lengthy although they were easy to understand and questions were direct too. Passages were conceptual based and questions asked were summary, inferences and tone of the author.

Logical Reasoning: Easy but time consuming
The Logical Reasoning questions were termed as easy but few questions were very time consuming as said by several candidates of CAT 2013 day 7 first session. Questions on sequencing were tricky while other question sets were based on Logical Matching, Binary logic seven and blood relations.

CAT 2013 result is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. CAT 2013 candidates can view their results on MBAUniverse.com with their roll number, username and password. The CAT 2013 result score card will be valid between January 14, 2014 and December 31, 2014.
